Hey, there seems to be a bug where all your family members can die and there's no one left to grow the family, or anything else, and the game just sits there, probably forever. Both of my two remaining characters died pretty much simultaneously, I don't know if it can happen without that.
If you have to prefix "this game is awesome" with "considering the limitations of ", it could probably just be rephrased as "considering the limitations of , this game should have been written in something else."
This is a pretty decent game, though, combat aside.
The combat system is really annoying - the shots don't really go where I click, and it doesn't seem to be possible to attack near the edges of the screen. Also, despite the fact that it's trying very hard to be 3D, it doesn't seem to be possible to turn around during the fight, and it's hard to tell how far away the ships are even what angle they are from where the gun is shooting. Could use some kind of line to show where the shots would go if you clicked.
I have three maces to give - if you want one, give me a weapon (any type) and then leave me a shout. If I've run out, leave a shout anyway, and I'll get you tomorrow, if you've given a weapon.
@Mephistic: Yeah, the battles definitely need some kind of 2D "tactics" view, like what there is in Ge.ne.sis. I actually do like the skill sets, at least for the warriors - there seems to be a lot of room for customization and specialization there, though maybe there are more party members to come that I haven't seen yet.
My major complaint at this point is that it runs like frozen molasses on my machine.
Graphics: beautiful.
Dialog and characters: hilarious!
Mechanics: awesome.
I haven't gotten very far yet (just finished the battle with Charlus and Charlus' older brother). The only problem I see is the poor English in info/help texts, but that doesn't interfere with the game past the first few battles.
Nice puzzles, but I am less than impressed with the unoriginal, moralistic, and highly politicized storyline. I play games to get away from this kind of stuff. 3/5
If you restart the game, make sure to wait until the balls from the last round stop falling - otherwise you'll probably just eat a red ball as soon as the game starts and die. :P
Decent idea, but the parser is horrible. None of these commands worked:
unlock door
unlock door with badkey
use badkey on lock
put clock on prongs
set clock on prongs
hang clock on prongs
hit clock with hammer
drop clock on prongs
and
drop hammer on clock
were just interpreted as "drop X" without the prepositional phrase.
