Kong scores would be nice. And a quick restart button instead of going back to the main menu and then choosing the difficulty again. Good game, lots of others with the same concept, but the moving scenery was well done.
When the missiles fly outside the self-destruct box they accelerate, so if you bounce between say the two bottom corners, a couple missiles will fly most of the way outside accelerating to annoyingly fast speeds. Also the music cut out again, and I think it was at the same spot.
not bad, one bug I found is the sound abruptly cut out once, I'm not sure why. Also it might help if you lowered the fuel use, but made the fuel tanks only give so much instead of filling it up, just a thought.
everything moves too fast, the controls for the star move it around way too fast, so I'm concentrating on compensating for the star and not grabbing things. And having everything accelerating towards you makes it difficult to pick up two things in a row. And if you accidentally mismatch things then there are another two mismatched shapes flying towards you, a lose-lose situation. And grabbed things shouldn't hurt the star since its in control of them.
Not a new concept, but definately a good implementation of it. I like the art, it has good graphics. Also while the possibility of running out of magic is annoying, I like the challenge of collecting things, it also makes it more interesting. A good game.
Can you say "grinding"?
Good implementation, but boring as heck. And this suffers the opposite problem of Monster Den, almost no magical equipment, Monster Den has almost all magical equipment.
It would help if the enemies didn't "derender" when they go off-screen, its a pain in the ass when you can't hit anything cause they go off-screen and disappear, really annoying for the bouncing gun or the missile launcher when they can't use their long range to hit anything. And collisions need a little work, missiles flying through an enemy?
Meh, hard = boring. And its not just my great technique. It could you use some serious balancing. Something is not right if I can make a line of uber towers across the screen by lvl 6 on hard. And I end the game with over 200K money that I have nothing to spend on. And the final boss doesn't even get all the way on the screen before he dies.
Also just slow everything down, while I appreciate being able to set it up my defense and watch it mow down 10000 enemies in 5 min, I wished the guys moved slower, and the towers shot slower, just so that I could see what was happening.
And another big thing, don't let all the towers target one guy, its a bit overkill when 12 uber towers shoot at a single goblin thing. Its best not to get any range increase so that each tower has a limited selection.
And at least for the north pole, make it shoot whatever is closest to it or to the "castle". A bit annoying when an enemy breaks through the line and walks all the way to the top while the pole is shooting new guys at the bottom of the screen.
And uber towers should have different upgrade costs than other towers, maybe a percentage of purchase cost.
Nice idea, but could use some tweaking.
Also if you click + drag the mouse over a number, either the score, your lives or the power lvls it will "select" the number, very annoying if you are trying to shoot a ship under the score number. =)
I got a bug, I died and then during the score screen a big ship (5 nodes) flew by and i couldn't hit it, then after it left, I couldn't hit any of the small ships. Don't know if that helps, but good game. =)
Heh, Hylius, you've hit the nail on the head, just fly diagonally and shoot behind you, jinking every once in a while... the boss though, that you have to sit in one spot and dodge sideways while spraying him. As for the bullets, they are more affected by the media you are flying through (its not space) its just a different type of particle physics.
Amusing for a little while, at least there is a mute button for all the musi-phobes out there. (if a game doesn't have mute, its the most complained about feature...)
