I really wanted to like this game. Great concept, decent story...but the pacing is really slow in the early levels, you're pretty much doomed to restart if your build doesn't work, and having the dialogue taking place while you're concentrating on aiming really hurts the story. Towards the end, too, the text moves too fast to take in while you're trying to deal with the rest of the game. I feel generous giving it a 3.
Very impressive technically. Gameplay not so much. The majority of the levels are too long, leading me to get bored most of the way through the game. Degrading powerups is a terrible design choice given some levels seem to require you to have a good weapon (19...). Most of my deaths were from things I couldn't even see, thanks to all the particle effects. 3/5
The game starts out rather slow. No direction or anything at all to hold the player's interest until they've already invested time into it. However, this is an extremely well made game. I wish there had been some actual puzzle elements instead of being so hack and slash, but oh well. 5/5
Decent game, berserk really should be a keyboard button though, double clicking just isn't responsive enough when you're trying to strafe and dodge at the same time.
Without even considering the religious references, this game is crap. Controls will 'lock' into left and right movement, sometimes it fails to load, no strategy to the gameplay, just button mash. Another terrible game dressed up in a way that either makes people laugh or offends them instead of trying to be a good game.
Tired Defend the Castle Formula, juvenile, annoying 'top-down' shooting that makes it difficult to aim at priority targets early on, pointless achievements to create artificial replay. I'll give the art credit for all the little details, but man, this is pretty bad.
Very well made overall. The only problem with the difficulty is the curve--the game is really easy up until level 9, when suddenly you have to pay more attention than putting pure blues in the right spots.
Now this is a fun puzzle game. Strict enough to be reasonably challenging, and still loose enough that you can pull off some crazy solutions and have fun with it. Great job.
An otherwise excellent game ruined by terrible hit detection. Trim down the hitbox around the mines just a little bit, and fix the ball going through the line, and you've got a winner.
So...the game is very good, but...reputation grinding? Seriously? There is no excuse for forcing people to kill hundreds of mobs just to get the last quest. Just because WoW does it, doesn't make it a good idea.
The last couple levels are fun, the journey there is really dull. It'd be a lot better if there was more focus on using units instead of just sitting back with autofire and building up mana. And please, get a better writer. The story sequences read like Dragonball Z fanfics.
Y'know what rocks? Getting most of the way through the game, and accidently clicking "Main Menu" and losing your progress because it doesn't save. 3/5 for that, good game though.
I like it, but the difficulty's a little silly--got +6 dodge early on, then got another big dodge item pretty quickly, then literally just ran through the rest of the game. Didn't get hit by a single trap past the 5th level or so.
