I found this today by accident while I was looking for something for my theater history class (there's a play also called "The Crystal Spider" but it's unrelated to this) - took some time out of my evening to play through this, and it was a treat! Doesn't overstay its welcome and introduces mechanics with pretty simple set-ups and expands upon em pretty well! My one suggestion would probably be to make the appearances of the on/off switch-platform states a bit more clear on when it's there or not, visual clarity is a key point in most puzzle games.
Apologies, I only saw this message a few days ago, that's why I'm responding so late, but I wanted to say thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed it and you're right about the visual clarity, however, since this is a bit of an older project I don't think I will update it for now, I do appreciate the suggestion though!
It's been 3 years since the release and I wouldn't have imagined anyone would play it at this point, so thanks once again for playing and thank you for leaving a comment too, I enjoyed reading it!
Have a great rest of your day
I enjoyed this! A series of little RPG puzzles in the micro, so you don't have to think excessively far ahead per say. I'm not here to advertise anything, more suggesting - If you want more of this style of puzzle, why not check out "DROD RPG" on Steam?
Randomly remembered this game and decided just a bit ago to play it again, and ended up getting all 9 main achievements (not counting Promise of course) in about an hour or two. Fun little romp, I'd say, reminds me mildly of another more recent game, "One Step From Eden", what with the deck system and the inspiration mechanic.
I feel heavily like this game's impossible-ranked badge is one of the easiest of its ranking on the site, but that's just me. The badge's difficulty boils down to just keeping your cool for nasty situations. I got to 75% of the badge's requirement on my 3rd go at it, so I'd say it's more feasible than one might think.
Rise's music literally picked up at the right moment my first time around, it did so right as the spikes first showed up when I missed the first cycle on the pair of platforms at the bottom. On another note, this game was really good to play through. The only really frustrating portion for me was Paths, but after a few tries at the dual fire-streams section shortly before the checkpoint, I pulled it off. So hey, great job!
149 days, current record. This game is oddly satisfying, and e gets kinda ridiculous once you start getting your normal zombie stats (Speed and Infection Rate in particular) going really high.
I have to say, this was rather nicely done, even for a demo! It's rather adorable, and sets up rather well for the full game. I really do wanna see this little demo get released as a full game.
I think the one thing we can all be happy about is that you don't have to finish the level for grabbing an Ace to count. Sanity savior right there, to be honest.
So, 4 years passed since I last gave this game a fair try, and this time I was actually genuinely competent enough to beat all 24 (I say 24 because the 25th still kinda eludes me on what's to be done) AND obtained all the gems in a matter of 2 days. I have to say, this was a good game once I actually got the skill level needed to pull off some honestly tricky maneuvers. I'd like to see a sequel now!
I'll be honest, I LOVE turn-based games. This really does the job well, and it kinda redefines puzzle games and dungeon crawlers. (I do have The Second Sky, btw) Good game.
That moment when you know you're gonna lose, but still manage to hold on for longer than expected. You know, that one. It's been happening to me a lot lately.
Curious glitch I found: So I reset my achievements and when I hit a specter with WoE (not gonna spoil it) it gave me the Not So Fast achievement. May wanna work on that little bug.
Good game. Could've made the slow-down mechanic work even if it wasn't at 100%, and if you used it all up, then you'd have to wait for it to reach 100% to to able to use. Managed to survive roughly 30 seconds without slow-down, and that run had a LOT of mines.
A neat game. The trick to putting the pieces together before you finish the level is to look for similarities in two pieces, i.e. a side's shape, features in the foreground, etc.
