As a stand-alone game and sequel, so-so, but I loved the first and want to see more so 4/5. I'd complain about crafting and money issues but other fans have already done the subjects justice, so I'd suggest a re-balancing of enemy spellcasters. I'm on my fourth run-through (once with each race), and am sick of spellcasters adding to the game's already intense grind, especially early on. Also, a fresher plot, and not just a halfhearted rehash of the first, would be icing on the cake. Love the humor, but am longing for at least a little depth.
Nice sequel! Please don't downrate for this bug report: I've made it to level 15 of survival and no more enemies are coming, so I can't progress - unsurprisingly, this is because I've only unlocked through 15, but to just sit there seems like a design flaw.
Just finished Crusade and am excited to start this! I'm happy about being able to carry over aspects of my progress, and the completionist in me hopes that some future installment has an achievement for finishing ALL the in-game achievements
What about introducing hat-dependent dialog for Pingy? After unlocking the sombrero, I realized how cool it would be if he were multilingual. C'mon, at least an "¡Olé!"
After finishing everything currently possible (with more to come?), I still feel the game deserves 5/5! There's still some polishing to do, but the dev is working on it daily, which is awesome
thank you for responding to my comment! Glad that hotkeys will be improved. Yes, I know there is an HP bar near all the icons, but you're asking us to keep our eyes in five places at once already. I've always wondered why you program games so that sprites wander off the map in either direction during battle, and this game doesn't give a good answer.
The changes in graphics are good, and there's more of an effort at plot than in some of the earlier versions, though your games' successes are unrelated to deep plots (and I say that as a fan of EW4 and My Little Army :). Gameplay is mixed - I'm disappointed by the relative lack of hotkey control, which made EW4 such an adrenaline rush, and it's annoying that the end of a fight typically takes the warring heroes off-screen, where I can't cast spells on my hero or see his/her HP bar. Some might call this strategy, as it's avoidable with planning... but, no, it's really just an annoyance. 5/5 despite reservations.
you can see his hp altough you cannot see him at screen, there is hp at his/her icon isnt it ? more hotkeys will be added in next updates. And yes this might call ew4 mix little army
Wow :( There's no "Are you sure you want to delete your savegame?" for that one time my mouse pointer is .25 inches down from where I meant it to be on the trackpad. Fail. For myself and the game.
Lots of good sheer "fun factor" in this game, in addition to the smooth graphics. 4/5, and the great suggestions others are leaving (bigger and more planets, control upgrades, story mode and not just "survival") could probably make it one of the better shooting games on the site
Has anyone gotten the "Lay 8 traps" in-game achievement? I've tried several variations and nothing works: 8 at once, all 8 different traps in the same level... nothing. Still enjoying the game after easy mode (which, as many have pointed out, is VERY easy). Fun game.
Fun and immersive, a great spin on RTS TD games! Wish the upgrades had a little more variety/power, but I'm willing to believe that there are strategies I haven't yet devised related to some of the "weaker" ones.
Developer: the unit death is an interesting idea but as several have pointed out it's really awkwardly done since you can't remove or replace a dead unit (yes, I'm aware of the Resurrection spell). Like the level cap, the way it's implemented it doesn't add to the fun, even if you say "it's for balance." Re-think how you treat player feedback. All in all, there's a lot of variety, even with the repeat skills everyone's complaining about, but I'm quitting at Stage 9 (can't say I didn't at least give it a chance).
Just walked away from my computer for tea and died, but with a higher score than I ever got while pressing the buttons. There are many good ArmorGames that challenge all the rules of flashgaming - this is not one of them.
"Support for the Arrow Keys has been added, for all of you people who are either left handed or not sufficiently enlightened to use the clearly superior QWERTY keyboard." Oh, very classy, vomit-game dev.
I love this series, and the Wizard always makes me laugh. At this point, I'm wondering why the dev hasn't added any perks for those who follow the series and have completed savegames from Parts 1 & 2. Not even necessarily bonuses to play, these could be alternate costumes, cutscene galleries, soundbits, etc.
Thanks, it really is a simple yet super effective way at removing clutter and mass selling. I think there's something similar in Fallout 3.
