Yes, the computer does sometimes have bad luck... CPU was just 4000 ahead of me but zilched 10 of his last 11 throws allowing me to pass and win by 5000...
There should be a penalty for taking too long to pick up a star. As it is right now, i can get tons of points just driving around a short train, picking up the star after a really long time. Repeat.
@alice: It isn't cheating when it is only selecting one of '2 fives'. It is playing for better odds. You can do it too by clicking on the dice to select/deselect them or holding down the 'shift' key and clicking on the '2 fives' option - it will only bank one of them for you.
One reason I think you see the CPU get amazing rolls when it falls behind is that it starts to play more recklessly, trying to get points. Sometimes it gets them, but I have also seen it fail miserably and get 9 zilches in a row. One thing I have learned is - finish the game, the more rolls you give your opponent, the more chances they have to get a freaky good roll.
So, for those who want to 'choose' your own dice rather than take the options given to you... there are two undocumented methods that I have found/been told... 1) you can hold shift down when you click an option like "2 ones" or "3 fives" and it will only bank one of them, and 2) you can actually click on the dice themselves to select or deselect them.
Decent start, needs quicker jumps, way to replay a level, scoring, and there are a few bugs (once I landed on a green flag in the correct order and it didn't turn black but was still counted since I finished the level). Instructions should also explain that you can't jump on a brick twice and what to do with the white flags.
For those that feel the computer cheats, it doesn't. The author has even posted some of his code on his site for people to check out. It can get very lucky (especially on Reckless when it tries to roll when it shouldn't) but it can also get very unlucky - I've seen it zilch 8 times in a row.
Pretty nice. Graphics do hurt the eyes after a while. Ran into a bug, fightig Lucius (level 70) and did a dark rain attack on him, it switched all the greens to skulls and started expanding all the skull combos and froze, music kept playing but game froze (I'm guessing when I killed him - he was down to 36 points and the dark rain created 6 combo-3's and 1 combo-5)
I think it's fun just because it is so different and makes you really think. I get stuck every now and then, leave the game, come back later... right now I'm stuck on 52.
I really like the game and concept. It is really annoying though that if I can't complete all the levels at once I have to start over from the beginning.
I like it. Fun. One suggestion... the course itself (and markers) seem to only be "suggestions" since there is no significant penalty for cutting massively off course on the corners. Maybe have more significant slow downs (deep sand?) and obstacles (rocks?) to cause you problems when you get very far off the actual track...
Has anyone else seen a bug in the save option? 3 times now I have started a scenario, saved, come back, saved again, come back only to have all my units explode and the game declare me a loser. Really annoying in longer scenarios.
Some complain that the intro is long but you can skip it and I find it pretty funny. I do have a low score on this game for the constant freezes (causing me to have to excessively save).
Still buggy. I got 30k but got to a point where a ninja stopped and started throwing shurikans from the back but would not let me type his name... I could type any ones that were running, but none that were standing (name was OFFE). Earlier in the game I was able to type the names of the throwers. Eventually three guys at the back were throwing and not accepting typing and I died.
Didn't work in Safari, worked in Firefox but when got into a situation where i was constantly being pegged with shurikens (like 4 throwers of them) it hung the browser, wouldn't even let me quit the browser - I had to switch to another app so I could get a system menu and force quit firefox. Other than that looks cool.
bug with money... somehow I got NaN as money instead of an amount and it will let me buy anything... also, second the 'why the emphasis on women's boobs in the graphics...'
