I'm a lazy player and I love the auto-attack. But everytime I leave and come back, the setting is reset, sometimes I run into my first crowd and stare at them like a fool.

Developer response from Spicyhorse

Maybe we can add "THE STARE OF DEATH" skill to buy? Or...... possibly fix the settings not being saved :)

(spoilers) Metaphor! The game is art/design/game school, the big monster at the end is your portfolio project, and the army of big monsters at the end is getting a job where you fight them every day. Mhm mhm.

I like it a lot, graphics, gameplay style... I don't get why there are monsters immune to the strategic towers(shadows), it just requires more brute force towers which is what you need to win anyway. Instead of being immune to fire and ice, they should take half damage from the green and purple, so they require MORE strategy to beat, not less.

I love that you are working on this game and constantly making so many changes - it's exciting to play through from zero to max each time.

Balancing suggestion: instead of nerfing character abilities, jack up prices(what they are now multiplied by 10 would be fine). I just went as far as level 211 with my assassin - after wave 103 or so I started going straight for the keyholder and raced to 200-ish - by then the enemies were challenging the character and I got killed sort of easy. I took home 100k gold. Also, have assassin unlock later, wave 40 or 50, so that he's at least a third run char. IMO - make simple balance tweaks like listed above - and spend your time developing more content for the game, I love it!

Another game mode idea, "make it to level 100" with a turn limit (artificial timer; a speed attack mode).

Why no replaying levels? Games are supposed to be fun, not something where you have to face life's harsh reality of never being able to go back and accepting losses. Why can't I do multiple saves so I can backtrack? Or just revert state to the beginning of the region?

I can't go back and do a previous level? it just autosaves and **** you, your fault you were stingy on metals and missed an epic weapon? Even though there's no way to know how strong the enemies will be? 5/5, but I think I need to quit or take a break now, because I missed an epic weapon on day 18.

hmm okay, level 53, have all ghost gear, joyfully zig zag around each room being a tornado of death... some suggestions then Lightning Boss: So much harder than anything else in the game, almost always lose if I start his area first. replay: easiest thing I can think of is something like (floors completed)/2 gets added to starting health. There's other ideas such as adding more game modes(like a hard difficulty) and carrying over some equipment to it, etc I give this game a 5/5, but it could have two or three times as much content/complexity/depth as it does. I'd buy a premium for $10 if you made one, I love the game.

"give us money or grind for enough hours to earn that much money at minimum wage" is a despicable setup. The game seems like more of a trap or a scheme, and less like something made to be enjoyed and fun.

hey kids and adults, are we aware that making flash games pays next to nothing? Guilt tripping a game designer over wanting to eat is kind of low, isn't it? There's a free game here. There's more game if you want to pay. You don't have to, and you can just play what there is.

the game needs a little more work, interface(the menus are kind of clunky) and the shop bugs(what you see isn't what you get with the crafting materials), but the art is beautiful and the gameplay is deep enough. Battles got a little stale late game with the "grind until you can buy enough items to win" thing going on. 5/5 despite flaws

The graphics are really pretty, well done, I'd be happier if more games looked this good. But the gameplay is mind numbing. Placing blocks as fast as possible is the only way to have enough power to win, so there's no time to even click on a unit and read the info panel, let alone use any critical thinking. The game boils down to deciding placement and then dropping like blocks on top of each other for several minutes. It doesn't even pass for a match three game since those involve organizing through limited movement rules, in this you just look what you got and drop it. I finished level 4, got another new unit type that doesn't seem to be worthwhile, I'm seeing the problem that other people are describing with more unit types weakening the army, so I'm done playing. 2/5, at least it's good looking.

For battles this monotonous, it's better if they are auto. Yes it is. But it's not good that I'm forced to build both attack and magic skills because the AI insists on using both, because it seems like a game where it should be an option to build just one of the two, seeing as how there's a wizard and a warrior class that are each good at one of them. I suggest adding an AI preference option, "attack only" "magic if I can" or "mix of both(what it's doing now)" so that we can set the character to do what we've built it to do. (it should probably be changeable during battle since a character might be better with one but need to use the other on an enemy that's only weak to the other). Also, the battles need to be much much faster, since they're so monotonous and there are so many. As is, I feel that the game disrespects my time.
