Visitant,
Good advice, but I usually hire someone immediately, before leaving Poca Cosa. The mercs there are better than the ones available in Caganel and Drushlak, anyway.
Also, never bother with knives or swords. They're dead weight, and almost always useless. You just DON'T want to be in melee range of your opponents. NEVER. I tried creating a 10 Strength 10 Agility main character to see if a high strength value and lots of speed would make katana use profitable, but it just doesn't work out past the PC-C-D triangle. Once you can safely travel to the first city that sells grenades, they're always a better choice for secondary weaponry.
NomDeGuerre, that must be something of a rare occurance. I've never had any trouble with the first level or three... but since its randomized, I suppose I can see that. There always seems to be two or more paths, though. Maybe I've just been lucky.
Oh, yes, and the scrolls of deception have no real purpose. I've never been trapped. Maybe this is something that only happens at the really deep dungeon levels?
Love it. The only problem I have with this game are that it very swiftly becomes repetitive - there's almost no point in playing past the Corrupter. Add some variety. Another class or two. New weapon types. New things to do. Randomly generated actors or events in dungeons that give great rewards. Side quests. Things like that. Yes, it's a flash game, not Baldur's Gate 2, but even roguelikes manage to add a great deal of spice to their claustrophobic lives, and this is just too vanilla to go back to again and again. I can't imagine getting the last hardcore badge.
for some odd reason, I really like this little game. It's hilarious in its own way. Not great, but just the thing for a bored half hour or so, and a nice change of pace from some of the laughably serious sword-and-sorcery types of amateur games that are being created.
Wonderful style. A bit too much click-and-hope, though. Also, I'm not sure if I finished it successfully or not. I got a "to be continued" but still feel like I have yet to use a few items in my inventory, and there are several objects in the house I have yet to interact with. Odd. If I failed, as I suspect, then it should be more obvious. Actually, the same goes for success.
I feel like I've played a game quite similar to this on Kong already. Not bad. A few minutes into it, however, and nothing was really drawing me into the experience.
Frankly, I'm appalled. This is clearly a shallowly disguised Larry King murder simulator designed to teach our vulnerable children how best to fling hand grenades into the offices of CNN. Violence against newscasters should not be glorified and you sir should feel ashamed. ASHAMED.
Not terrible. Walking animation is laughable, there's no real selection when it comes to guns (the next one you find is always the best, unless it's one you've already found), and not challenging really. But above average for these types of games.
The platforming is a bit dodgy sometimes, but this is still lots of fun. For something that has the look of a student project, the sort of thing you'd tackle at the end of a "learn to program ____" book, the best thing I can say about it is that I wrote down the password for my last spot, and have now favorited the game.
BootieBadAzz, as easy as it would be to take a cheap shot at your forum name with regard to your complaints about how "retarded" this game is, I won't.
You can change both your caravan's map travel speed and the game's combat speed. Setting both to "High" will make the experience much quicker.
Like the visual style. Thought it was too easy at first, but the first boss was actually a bit of a challenge. Might still need some tweaking. Control scheme is clunky.
Fun at first, and I enjoyed the feeling that my bubble tank was constantly evolving, but once I hit what appears to be the upper limit of my bubble tank's evolution, it became a chore quickly, especially since it just seems to go on and on endlessly. With no score, no further progress for your tank, and no clear objective, it ends up being a bizarre bubble-blasting sandbox of a time-waster.
ranged "of death" equipment makes survival more of an option, and the damage you dish out with stacked "of death" equip is tremendous.
But for the 500 dmg goal it's probably easier and safer to focus on "crushing" equipment, which kills your crit chance but adds a base of 200 or so damage automatically. Easy 500+ with that.
Alex, the game is vague, but what you're supposed to do is visit either Qubba (for the "evil" route) or Verdammter Platz (for the "good" route). I recommend good, not because it's especially interesting, but because the evil route is exceedingly easy and short.
Enter the Desert Patrol HQ in Verdammter Platz and the main quest line kicks off.
mrpockets, do you mean Intelligence? Points added to Intelligence increase your non-combat skills - Mechanic, Doctor and Veterinary.
So, basically, Intelligence is pointless in this game, from a mechanics standpoint. Reduce it to 1 to create an optimal main character.
In a better game, it would alter quest paths and dialog options, but this is just one of the many areas where Caravaneer falls short of a commercial product, not that it needs to reach that level.
