Reading the tutorial I thought "this will be boring" but after i'd played for about three minutes I realised how clever it was and that I'd probably be here for the next couple of hours.
I agree with the comments about no checkpoints, and also I think you should be able to revisit conversation or have a journal that records what people have said to you. I enjoyed the aesthetics of the game though
The puzzles were clever as is usual with Bonte games, but I did not like navigating the 3-d world. The arrow kept going out of the screen which was distracting and often I found myself moving very slowly like I was stuck in the graphics.
This is a billion times better than Doodle God. The interface is so much easier to use, the game is a lot more logical and the girl is helpful in telling you when you have used an element to its maximum, as is the reactions history tag. Well done, the extra time spent on this shows.
I don't think you need to add an autofire (thats what automatic weapons are for) but you do need a save function and the ability to change weapons. I know it makes it less retro and arcade-y but there are some things about old-style games that were not so good.
I enjoyed that game in the end, but I am always wary when in an adventure game, you can end up losing money to shopkeepers. I think it is better when they buy back from you at the same price. Though it didn't happen, I am always worried I will get stuck with not enough cash to finish the game.
I thought it was ironic that the game forced you to choose free will and you did not have the option to do nothing and accecpt your fate as a soulless machine.
This is how shit this game is: with the exception of entering the box code, I completed the game by literally clicking on everything on the screen you could click on. It literally took 2 minutes. 2/5 Well animated but awful gameplay.
I loved this game. The animation was superb, and it was made in the classic humourous adventure game style which is my favourite. If the game was longer and with more complex puzzles this would be as good as a Monkey Island or Simon the Sorceror game easily! Well done all involved.
The style of this game was very enjoyable, and the puzzles were logical, but a bit too easy. The game itself was short and quite linear, but it was fun anyway and I liked the humour of it. I hope you make another game with lots more puzzles and a longer story. I reckon that would be fantastic. 3/5 for this effort
I like the alternation between puzzles based around good accuracy/timing and those which require some accuracy, but more need you thinking logically about the solution. 4/5
:)
