Also, most of the difficulty of the game comes from the incredibly cheap abilites the monsters are given. Such as having attack hitboxes that cover HALF THE PLAYABLE AREA for regular attacks or instantly teleporting AND getting a free shot at you whenever you manage to hit them.
Way worse than the first one. Hitting enemies is a guessing game (their hitboxes often lag behind), you can get hit from angles you have no way to retaliate from, enemies have often annoying abilities which often give them A TON of invulnerability frames (WITHOUT any indication that they are invincible in that space), the shops are mostly useless (spirits and elements, the things you need the most, aren't sold), and the game itself is bug-filled and badly balanced.
Pretty good, fun and engaging, the only complaint I have is that in the later levels the sprites get so small it actually hurts the eyes trying to focus on them, especially the tiny green enemies which blend with the background.
Love how you get genuinely new and original mechanics (like unlocking new civilizations and having them help one another) that mix up the gameplay regularly.
"What about the final boss?"
"Eh, let's give him a randomly-activated shield that heals him when you attack, which means your AI-controlled allies will always heal him during this phase" "Did you give him some nice insta-killing moves?" "Yeah, of course. No cues whatsoever, he can just teleport in your face and shoot you dead. He also has a counterable attack where he just throws a huge boulder at you, and you can break the boulder to cancel it." "Do you get any bonus from doing it? Like, does he get stunned or damaged?" "Nope, if you counter that attack he just continues whaling on you." "Then what's the point of countering that attack if you can just sit on the invincibility tile and let it come and go?" "Wasting time, of course."
"Hey Steve, are you done making those Wraiths for the game?"
"Yeah, I made them all super fast, they hit hard, have a ton of life and always come in waves that are impossible to hit all at once with an area attack"
"Wow, you're a dick."
"I know, that's why you hired me"
Can't I just smear the mold on that mirror? I didn't have a problem touching the inside of a toilet pipe, so you can't tell me you don't want to touch THAT.
"I know, I'll just take another tablecloth and...ah, can't do that."
"Alright, then I'll just cut the mattress open and take some stuffing...damn, can't do that either."
Well, there is a big bug now. I can't enter the Sanctuary even after beating all bosses on Ascension 4, I keep killing The No One but Hell's Gate keeps being marked as not clear.
I've been getting an error when trying to load the game since I refreshed...

NotFoundError: The operation failed because the requested database object could not be found. For example, an object store did not exist but was being opened.
I like the minimalistic interface, but it would be nice to see the adventurers a bit more fleshed out (show their maximum HP and also show their current equipment when deciding who to equip with a weapon from the inventory)
