This energy crap is really screwing the game over. It's gotten to the point that 4 or 5 matches and I'm completely outta energy, which only regens at 1 point per hour. Decent game in theory, but in practice (due to energy) it's really just not worth playing.
At first I gave it a 5/5 for a nice twist on a pretty common game. However, my frustration slowly mounted as I found out other posters are being truthful rather than exaggerating the horrible stats of the green horseman. He's LOSING stats on levelup as of around 16+. He's now level 20 and has lost 3-6hp each level up. On top of no power gains and no leadership gains. It's come down to my bloody troops defending the middle with the hero dead more often than not. Every single troop goes to middle until all the slots are filled. 4/5, sorry. Other than that major annoyance, good game. I really dislike the disproportionate gains in power (and loss of power).
Wow. Just wow. How have I not seen and played this game before this point? I didn't expect much from the title but my god this was damn fun! Easy to beat once ya learn the mechanics, but still amazing
Hmm... for level 14 wave 40 I didn't even build a hellfire. I stuck with frost towers on the upper hills, then built the mana bonus spots, then pretty much focused on scout towers by destroying forests (converting mana to gold). I found harvesting forests was absolutely KEY to level 14. You'd get the gold needed to build your buildings and get upgrades. I mostly built catapults from the green buildings on the left side, and mostly frost towers on the right side. Also, don't forget to harvest the trees on the lava spots, and build temples there with excess cash before the last wave. Wave 40 I had enough mana to wipe the stealther out with inferno.
Fun little game. Thought it would be over after beating the final bad dude, but no, in appropriate treasure hunter style you need to find all the artifacts too. Andy to the rescue!
Interesting little trading game. A bit o luck involved, but got all 3 badges in my 2nd game. Keep your "get out of jail free card" for a $99 mutli-crate city. Also you gotta take risks mid-game when ya have a full fleet of ships. Send to risky $99's and you'll still succeed more often than not.
Is it just me or are "Defense quests" 100% based on the RNG? 3 misses in a row (or 2 misses and a non-kill hit) guarantees a loss if 2 attackers are on the same column, and generally 2 misses is enough to lose if a 3rd attacker moves in to the column as well. You can't deploy army units until you kill units on the field, which is dumb. I have gold, let me use it right away!
Whew, got the hard badge. From the "starter song", I did 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6. Couldn't do song 5 on crazy. The others -- especially in tier 2, are a bit too tough for me.
@Cubicz: No beginner instructions? What about the very first option? The nice big blue option that says "INSTRUCTIONS." Don't vote down if you didn't look.
I just had the same nerdykid... got the win with those bars and the falling ball... got fast enough that my ball was just passing through the bars.... finally it got stuck and ended at around 5.6x
Congratulations! You just won the Scorin' Down South Badge and 30 points!
Holy crap that one was more difficult than most hard badges.
Note: It can be done on easy mode. I found it easier for fingering to use A, S and K (for yellow). I had a lot more difficulty using A, S, D.
As many have said, lack of save feature is really killing the fun of this game. It doesn't need to be every level, but seriously, ALL 30 levels without mistake is insane. My 1/5 will go up to a 4/5, perhaps 5/5 if I can even get to the end.
Yeah, failing on vamp and sending you back to beginning is enough to turn me off of this game. I liked other games from this author, but this isn't one of them.
