Yeah, this isn't a 5 minute game, at least not for the first play through. It took me 15-30 minutes to beat, but now that I've beaten all the levels once, I could probably do a speedrun in 5 minutes.
@dorugu: You unfortunately can't edit your comments, but you CAN delete them and replace with one you want. Simply go to your account main page and click on Comments on the right (or just copy/paste "https://www.kongregate.com/accounts/dorugu/comments".) From there, you can delete your own comments. P.S.A. Unless your profile is set to private, you can also use this to view anybody's comment history for all games. This can be very useful if you want to see if somebody has posted other good comments (or a quick way to identify a person who spams ads or trolls people throughout the Kongregate webpages.)
@Sibuscus: Um... What's wrong with chess logic? The opponents make moves that won't cause them to be defeated in a few turns. Just think ahead and you should be fine in this STRATEGY game. This is not a game where you just rush up and start beating up the the first opponent you see.
@joeyjoey90: When I first played this genre of game I also was very confused. In this game genre you are SUPPOSED to die, so it is the complete opposite of perma-death genre games. The point of these game genre is to send an expendable person or team out, they beat some enemies, die, and either through a time loop or sending information back to your reserve characters they "learn" and become stronger and attack again, usually beating the original enemies extremely quickly. So this game genre also generally overlaps with the idle game genre so you let your characters go on the next run and only have to actually play when it gets hard again.
@Kingtrax4: Actually, this game didn't recently get badges. This game (and a bunch of other similar games) got these badges several years ago when Kongregate lost the ability to have Flash player games working right and before people were submitting HTML5/Unity games, so games like these were chosen to get a load of badges. Unfortunately... yeah, these games are trash compared to a lot of the Flash player games. I miss playing games like Gemcraft for BotD.
All-Time Fastest completion time in seconds: -417... Well, I guess some people have figured out how to do time manipulation outside of the game in addition to inside the game. /rolls eyes
@KrashSkydiver: There was another game made by the same developer of this game called "Time World", so maybe you're thinking of that game? As a side-point, I actually liked that game more than this one. I surprised the developer decided to transfer this game to HTML5 but not Time World.
@arduinoMASTEH: Yep, it was change to Monster Tiles TD's "Newly Recruited Badge". For people who still see this game as the BotD, refresh your Kongregate profile page and that will change Thursday's badge to the new badge you need to get for today.
Some people are complaining about this game being too hard for a medium badge. It is a medium badge... if you start on it on Monday. Kongregate does occasionally have time consuming idle game badges on Friday-Sunday, and this is DEFINITELY an idle game. If you played for 10 minutes each day Monday-Thursday, you should easily reach level 100 today. If you waited until today to check the BotD though... then yeah, this is going to be VERY hard. I can only suggest doing what myself and others have been doing for years and that is always check on Monday every BotD for the entire week and work on any idle games on Monday so you'll be done by the time the respective day arrives that you need to have the badge done for.
@JackVermicelli: On the main menu, click on "Options", and then under "remap controls:" click each control, then type "A", "D", and "W" to change left, right, and up controls respectively. It will SHOW left, right, and up but the controls will change from arrow keys to WAD keys. Maybe the developer since he's replying to chat comments would be willing to update that menu so that when a new key is assigned it will tell you what the new key assignment is?
@Xxfaded_bladexX: There are several reasons for energy systems, but one important one is for multiplayer games is so that people with a lot of free time on their hands can't just rush through a game immediately while most people fall far behind. Is it annoying for those of us who just want to do everything at once? Yes it is. What I find really annoying though is seeing all these buttons on the right side of the screen blocking me from seeing while advertising packs for sale using Kreds, and the only way to get rid of them is to buy them.
This is one of those games that I which was longer, such as by having multiple short worlds so you could quit the game after playing for 15 minutes after beating a world. Another possibility would be having different times of the world that the protagonist crashes on so we can find out WHY all these ships keep crashing in the same general area, and why it happens to be right where secret laboratories are built.
Which does bring up something. If those are actual players I sent to the hospital or killed by the hundreds over the past hour, I've probably got bunch of very annoyed people at me, which in that case, I'm sorry. There is nothing more dangerous in a game than a person who knows enough to use the controls in a game but not enough on HOW they should be playing the game.
I VAGUELY remember playing this game months ago for some badges, and played today to get the "Expansion Abroad Badge" for the Badge of the Day. I forgot how to play the game, I couldn't find a full user guide, just a FAQ page, so I decided to just do a bunch of fights. Who I was fighting, I have no idea, but I got the BotD by reacjomg Lv. 50 in under a hour. I just found fought someone with as few mobs as possible until it wouldn't let me fight them anymore, then fought another person. When I leveled up, I would spread points evenly into health, attack, and defense, leaving 10 skill points to spare in case I needed to level up my stamina by 5. Since I got 1 favor point per level plus bonus favor points for doing win streak achievements I bought a 20-30 favor point Patriot Semi Auto weapon, Stay Cool Specs armor, and Stay Cool APC vehicle when I had enough favor points saved up. It was VERY boring, no idea WHY it works, but it did. /shrug
@Dianoche: This reply is a tiny bit late, but there IS a way to restart a level. It's not in the instructions, but after beating the first level you'll see a little white dot in the upper-left part of the game screen. Click that dot and you can go back to previous levels. If you then go back to the highest level you can do you'll see that it has reset back to its default. And yes, having a stage number and being able to save the game would be nice. I've replayed this game because it is fun, but having to rebeat all the easy stages to get to the harder ones is annoying...
Well, it looks like Kongregate admin changed today's BotD from this game to "Accelerator's" Accelerated Curriculum Badge (Speed of 800 reached in any difficulty) so the problem of hard to even start the game was solved.
@everyone: For those trying to get the BotD, the first level is when you reach the first portal which will be after about a dozen rooms have been completed. You then go to a room where you can choose one of 5 portals which each brings you to another level with multiple rooms. Put another way, the game has 21 levels, and each level has multiple rooms.
@wreckfish: If you ever make a comment you realize later is wrong, irrelevant, has a typo, etc., you can always delete your own comment. Just go to "https://www.kongregate.com/accounts/"PROFILENAME"/comments" or go to your account and select "Comments" in the upper-right, then select "Delete" that is to the right of the comment you want deleted, and your comment will then be deleted.
Yea, the depths that people go to have the best Kong score have been interesting to see to say the least.
