@snake10000234: This game is so popular it is usually a BotD once every ~2 months. The fact that it still has a 4.1 star rating (as of the posting of this comment) even AFTER it has been BotD, which usually causes games to have a decent star rating drop as it forces people to play a game genre they don't normally like such as how Medieval Chronicles and Papa's restaurant games dropped from 4.5 stars to 3.5-4 stars after being BotD. Btw, for those who don't know what I mean by Papa's restaurant games... be glad you don't. I'll take a week of playing Medieval Chronicle games over Papa's restaurant games.
Reminder: A lot of Unity games unfortunately do NOT have save files (unlike Flash games which had save files on your local computer) so you will want to make sure to use the save code feature on the right side of the main menu before closing the webpage.
@ANBU0313: Well, this game was "Published Jan. 04, 2013", and your profile show you've been on Kongregate since Dec. 06, 2012, so if you happened to just play for a few minutes back when this game was published you could easily forget about it (I don't remember all the games I've played on Kongregate) and then when you got on to get the Badge of the Day you got the achievement. That's my best guess at least.
I am SOOO glad I got the the BotD "One of Us Badge" last time. For those who don't have it yet, I highly suggest trying to join a guild as early in the day by applying to as many guilds as possible and then come back near the end of the day and see if anyone allowed you into a guild.
@shane2314: I've also had issues loading occasionally. I found out the best thing is to open the webpage and have the screen remain in focus. For some reason my browser will think sometimes that if I have another window open that the webpage should take lower priority, stop loading, and will not start loading again until I refresh the webpage. This happens for me for this game as well as other games that require multi-MB loads.
@Naud1234: Yes, it does have music and sound. The music auto-started on the opening scene with "Start New" and "Continue", so you'll just need to do some troubleshooting (refresh the webpage, make sure tab isn't muted, make sure browser in volume control isn't set to 0, etc.)
@MissxLariz: Unless you go into your browsers options and turn this off, most browsers will send whatever language you have as default to a website you visit and if the website has different languages written by the developer then the webpage will change the displayed language to match whatever your browser says is your preferred language. In chromium browsers, it is under Settingd -> Lanuages.
@n000r: I have no problem using the action keys while in midair starting from Level 6 when the skill is introduced. Maybe you need to reload the page or try using one of the other action keys. Also, I've had issues in the past when keyboards get REALLY old (like 5+ years) that keys don't work right for some reason when multiple keys are pressed at the same time.
As for the game itself, it's ok and I would have given it 3/5 stars until something else needed my attention and I realized that there was no way to pause the game, so only 2/5 stars from me. The game does have potential, but as others pointed out the turrets and walls are pointless because walls neither guide yetis around them nor are they durable and block the yetis long enough for your turrets to kill the yetis before the walls break, which means your turrets will get destroyed very quickly once you start having yetis spawn at a fast rate and run right through your turrets. If the turrets in the game were smart and protected themselves then maybe they could be useful. I hope the developer releases an updated version of the game with improvements.
Wow, I must be missing something. To get in the top 100 you need to kill at least 163,708 yeti just to tie with 100th place. Either there is a game mechanic I'm missing... or someone hacked the Kongregate API system and submitted bogus scores.
@awpifnaeognapieg: You should have played 3 years ago when we still had Flash games as BotD and played one of the Super Crazy Guitar Maniac Deluxe games. THOSE were hard.
Reminder: You *can* spend 100 gem and create your own guild for the BotD if you can't find one before midnight Pacific Time. I did have to refresh the webpage after joining a guild, so make sure to join a guild several minutes beforehand so you have time to refresh the webpage, redownload the game, and then take a screenshot if needed showing you haven't been awarded the BotD.
The BotD "I Made This Badge" Medium badge is easy to get. Just do the first 5 stages, then go back to the main menu and select User Challenges, sort by Popular Rating, and do the first 5 levels that show up (the ones I got were made by ArbiterRex, SaltyDog, ddiaza, rduran, and Xalendare.) You should have the BotD in 15 minutes from when you start playing the game. As a side-note, Xalendare's level has 36 Kongpanions to save so that will contribute greatly to getting the "A Gooey Fate Badge" Hard badge which requires saving 300 Kongpanions.
@The4spatiald: Unfortunately, you can't edit your comments. However, you CAN delete them. If you open your profile, click Comments on the right, and it will show all your comments sorted by newest to oldest. Click on "Delete" beside the comment you want to delete and it will be removed, and then you can repost with what you wanted to say. Just don't wait too long, otherwise people may reply to your initial comment and it will confuse people when they read the comment section when they see comments replying to a comment that is no longer their because you deleted it.
Ok, I completed the all 20 levels of the game and found another issue. There is no way to choose which level you want to replay after you beat it other than to select Start and begin from level 1 (or 11 after unlocking light mode) and playing forward. There's also an issue in light mode that some objects, such as the mirrors, are the same color as the walls so you have to memorize or keep an eye out for 45 degree angles and remember that they are mirrors. Again, great game, and it would get 5/5 stars from me if these issues were fixed.
At first I was thinking of giving the game 5/5 stars... until I close the window and reopened it later. I then found out that the game has absolutely no saving and had to restart from the beginning. Any game that requires more than 15 minutes should have a save ability of some kind, whether cookies, alphanumeric code, etc. So I give the game 3/5 stars, and will change to 5/5 stars if the developer adds a save function to the game.
According to the badge I completed the game nearly 3 years ago on Feb 08, 2021 and I still give it 4/5 stars. The game is mostly good, but there are a few things that keep it from being 5 stars. As SkylerF said, the controls aren't intuitive. There at least needs to be instructions showing you can rotate the screen and that you need to click on the arrows to cause the blocks to move in the direction of the arrow (even a finger/mouse icon moving so it is multilingual) and let the player know the goal of each level is to remove all the blocks from the screen. The game missing these 3 things is really annoying, but beyond that for some reason the game doesn't save the player's progress. Adobe Flash had a folder for player's progress saved on the computer, Unity had a folder, but I can't find any information in this game about how to save your progress across multiple game plays.
