Immediate response: A game based upon discredited medical theory, and energy medicine which still causes some to forgo regular treatment, resulting in their deaths. I am inclined to rate this a 1 for not making clear that the concept of chakras is BS.
You can complain about the ease with which someone can simply fill in the blanks, but at the end of the day, you're just writing to please yourself, so enjoy it. This is a fantastic game!
Quote:skalert "Has great potential, just add a whole game, and this will be a whole game" j/k, this is a better start than I would have if you told me to write a flash game. Need more depth. Something should feel like it's changing. Or at least have a big happy graphic to tell you when you level up.
I am loving this game, but it seems as though the weapons selection and upgrades are lacking in substance. They all perform in about the same way in all situations, and once you have the three way rebound gun, everything that follows is incredibly Disappointing. Perhaps a 2 weapon load out using q/e to switch would be better. Then weapons could be made to be situation specific. (ie: long range, short range, indirect fire, bullet spam, precision, strong vs type, weak vs type etc.) Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic shooter as far as style and gameplay are concerned!
I really wanted to like this game, and I probably would have if everything wasn't so tiny and monochrome. I may be losing my eyesight but the skills I built while cutting my teeth on Twinbee aren't gone yet.
This game does a very good job at making me feel blind, which could be a feature... but I suspect it's a fault.
I remember when I got the 4th pixel, that I felt all giddy inside and excited to see what was next. When I got the eighth pixel, I grew legs! When I got the 16th pixel I got arms and a head fantastic! What else would this game give me? Sadly, I will never know because I can't find pixel 32/32. Half an hour looking was a generous contribution of my time and getting nothing for it made me rate this 1/5.
"F*cking Scientists. Pompous, useless pricks with a degree, every single one of them."
Maybe it's a poor idea to make a sci-fi game that is anti science. Just my opinion. If I wanted to hear lines like this, I'd listen to ICP. lol "f*cking magnets?!"
Enjoyed the game thouroughly, until for some reason it began to lag unbelievably badly. I blame my laptop, but a half second delay makes platform jumping impossible.
Also, people are only assigning their own idea to the story. "I think this game is good, because it fits with my ideals" When it doesn't even do that. It's the best game ever, because you get to infiltrate a family, and then betray them, and then leave earth in chaos and confusion.
I must reiterate. It's not that people don't get it. It's that it's not good, original, or poignant . It's like a bad joke. Yes. I get the punchline, it's just not funny.
The message is the same one we see rehashed over and over in kids movies. (Go watch "The Iron Giant.") And it's not even executed particularly well.
The art is nice, and the animation is smooth. I'm sure this author can make a better game, and a more compelling story.
@argeron "this game tries to be artsy but fails miserably. like really. I'm a black blob. I meet a girl. I get bigger. I meet a family. I get bigger. I protect family through what appears to be nazi germany? then I die and the girl cries. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE HOW IS THIS SAD?"
That's exactly what I'm saying.
@Dracocagebuyo the most vociferous critics of this game, seem pretty cultured. This game lacks gameplay, and doesn't have a story. Sure, it implies a story, but the story it implies is neither unique, nor original.
Outsider arrives, makes friends, freinds are endangered by outsider's very existence, outsider leaves/sacrifices itself to protect friends. It's so very formulaic.
@toomad Nah, the game didn't impact. The people who think it's good are evoking an emotional response, if amazement and annoyance at them counts as an emotion.
