To optimize your gold per click, you need to have damage/click == 2*defense of the stone.
that's because, for each stone upgrade, def is multiplied by 1.2, HP also, and gold by 1.35.
So you want to optimize the gold/attack, modifying the stone lvl n, for a given dmg/attack d. with r_n being the gold rate(gold/attack), g_n the gold given by stone n, l_n the life of stone lvl n . with m=n+1
r_n=g_n*d_n/l_n
r_m=g_n*1.35*d_m/(1.2*l_n)
Those two are equal (=it's time to change from stone n to m) when
d_n=1.125*d_m
you replace with defense_m=defense_m*1.2 and d_n=attack-defense_n
and you get 1.8defense_n=d_n
you must use several meteors. If you don't have enough mana, chop trees on desert when you are nearby full mana, then when the boss appears you can have mana by putting a temple on the desert.
