In an alternate timeline, the team never even made it to the final area, let alone the final boss. Why? Some levels in, a smart aleck foe with a ranged weapon decided it would be smart to try shooting at the people *in* the towers, instead of just the soldiers outside of them.

I'm curious as to what happened to Arkuni- they had plenty of humor, skill and potential, maybe they are making some game under a different name? ...or maybe they just vanished.
If you max out Mana Explosion and Frostbolt, you can start a battle with FB and follow with ME to kill anything in the game except for the Necromancer and Landor. If you don't have max level ME, use the Shield before casting ME. Its actually possible (and not too hard) to defeat the Necromancer before reaching level 20 *or* beating the Gold Cup, but a cutscene will activate before you can land the final blow. Gold Cup is much harder, but still feasible with a little luck. There's an NPC who replaces the Necromancer after you beat the game who will give you 100 XP for 500 Gold, but then you can't beat Landor without Shadow Form, get the Sword of Tenfor, and sip a smoothie while you use the "Frostbolt->Mana Explosion" trick to obliterate the Necromancer.
Fun fact: At max level and with all relics, you should be able to 2HKO the Necromancer with Critical Hits from the Mana Explosion. Landor is a 3HKO.
This feels much better than Landor Quest was. The game is well thought out and has far more interesting gameplay. Some of these sprites seem a bit too familiar (*glances at Protector*) and also its interesting to see that Sleepy Knight is in charge of Lucas and Landor. 5/5, glad to see where you've gone and hope to see where you go to.
Assuming everyone here is a caricature of what they once were...
Fisher Soul: A wealthy stock broker who just wanted to sit back and enjoy life, but never was told he could.
Thirsty Soul: A baseball pro who suffered some debilitating wound at the height of his career, then found comfort in fine teas.
Heavy Soul: A man who took delight in cuisine, but was focused on a certain field of food instead of viewing all there was.
Go-Getter Soul: A man with skill and talent, yet one who always felt obligated to stay and help his family, so he never tried to get out of his mediocre position.
Baseball Soul: A young guy who idolized a baseball player, and wanted to have someone share that dream with him, but never had enough money or courage to try.
Floral Soul: A pleasant gardener who eventually felt they had done everything, and began to have a bit less joy than they used to.
Farm Soul: A man who tried to let his life grow and take its own path, but fell prey to fear of failure (the crow).
The cat does not lose weight between levels. Each time, the cat gets fatter and fatter, the wizened blind sushi chef creates larger and larger slices of fish, and the onlookers witness the great behemoth the chef is slowly unleashing onto this world. If it ever stops bouncing around, at any rate.
The secret to beating Godcat isn't raw power or elemental resistances, it is buffs and debuffs. For all her power Godcat can be hit by Weaken, Tired and Curse. By making use of this via Anna's Arrow Rain and the status Flairs, along with Gaia Bloom and the like, one can cripple Godcat's stats and make her far easier. Also, the player should have buffs in effect in order to boost their stats. Finally, FOOD. Make sure you are applying food boosts properly; Ham is useless on Natz and Lance, while Cake is useless on Matt and Anna. That said, Godcat is still an immensely difficult battle, but it still can be done on Epic after level 33 even without Premium equipment.
Hm. The initial part of the series was filled with laughter and jokes, of silliness that mattered little in the grand scheme of things. Over time it became more and more complex, and endless web of way too many revelations and such. But now the writing is good (even if VasantJ could use an editor for some bits of grammar), the jokes are entertaining and the stories actually mean something. This is not a mass of chaos, nor a pointless scrawl. The silliness of the first half of what's been done is no longer the sole attraction.

EBF5 is out on steam, however the web version is going to be a bit more polished (and the steam version will be update at the same time). Go ahead and buy the steam game if you were going to buy the premium version here, its just 15 bucks. A lot of games these days run 40, 60 bucks so its a good deal if you ask me. Or you can wait a while and play the web version when it comes out, that'll work too.
