Geez guys, what is up with down-voting ChaoticBrain's comment? I thought it was a great game and i gave it a 5/5, but he is totally correct that it is not really a rogue-like.
Ok I've tried every weapon to save you guys the pain since alot of the expensive weapons are crappier than the early ones. Summary: Use poison blades! Swap front weapon for situation.
GUNS:
Shotgun - A great gun for price and power consumption.
Rocketer - Not as strong, but can do some dmg at range.
Freeze - Super interesting. AOE freeze (movement only). Not a source of DPS.
Watcher - meh, too slow
Mines - bad
Blastgun - meh
Seekers - not great
Flamer - good for small trash guys
Gauss - A good solid weapon but you must aim well
Plasma - good overall but not that strong
Stinger - NO NO NO
MIcrowave - doesnt work on big guys
Deathbringer - barely the best. uses alot of power
Melee:
None are terrible. Poison blades are the best thing in the game. Kite with them and poop poison blobs.
Skills:
THE SHIELD OMG SO OP at LVL3!
Items: The shield generator is good to fill an empty slot. It protects you at intervals.
I don't think the hero spirits, hero guild, new weapons/armor bonuses add up to enough money to be visible on your total in the end-game. The only thing that works to increase money at the end is investments, and none of the reset bonuses or hero guild bonuses help with that.
Sepera if you are still having trouble, once I got multiheal it was easy (I could take my time and kill all the enemies). It made a big difference for me.
For those who stopped in to get badges - PVP which is required for the first badge is locked until some unknown point in campaign. The dungeon for the 2nd badge cannot be reached without running out of energy. You wont be able to get the badges the first time you play without paying kreds.
I'm so thankful that it plays all by itself so I don't have to play. I'm also so grateful that its so easy that my play-by-themselves guys will never die. Ideal customer for this game is a 5 yr old with a credit card.
To people struggling with gold - don't farm old levels. Just keep trying the next level and you will get consolation gold if you fail. Equip the broom soldiers, archers, swordsmen, and 1 other type so that the blocks are flowing quickly and grab all the coins you can (also upgrade coin). Even with this strategy though its true gold is limited so dont waste it. For example, don't upgrade spells or use spells to beat levels. If you are stuck on a level keep upgrading units until you can beat it without spells, since that is money down the drain.
Ok, having just beat the game I will give some tips. On the last boss I used Swordsmen, Archers, Eagle Warriors, and Warlock(Healer). This was so effective that I didn't have to cast any spells. The two units who's stats I maxxed were Archers and Eagles. Healing works great in combination with high armor units, but not with high health units.
DPS is king, so do whatever it takes to maximize it. Ranged DPS is better than melee dps because your DPS will not go down as units die.
Swordsmen are inescapable so you might as well upgrade them. They have decent tanking stats and a whopping 30% spawn rate. This is the only tank you need.
Eagle knights are where it all comes together. They reach a blistering 415 dmg, and are one of the top units in terms of armor rating. The low health issue goes away when upgraded. The 16% spawn rate is enough to keep a good number of them on the battle field at all times.
Oh yah, the last boss is a giant demonic penis for some reason. Enjoy!
Suddenly on lvl 50 there is a boss that will teleport to the back and strike your camp, so you have to upgrade it. . not gonna lie, not a big fan of that move, dev.
Easter, you just have to be >= the %. You dont have to match it exactly. The 16% knights require you to sacrifice one of your 20% units for a 30% unit if you want to remain with only 4 unit types.
This has a ton of potential, but when the inventory is limited and nothing stacks, its not really playable :-( I ran out of space without even getting through the tutorial, so I can see how brutal this problem would always be if I chose to play this game.
Ok you have an issue. When prompted to choose my talent for a knight, I refreshed the page so I could be prompted again and see his stats. This puts the game in a state where cant turn in the quest and the game is stuck.
The fact that you have to force people to use a new car and lock out their old one to stop people from beating the game with the first car means you did not manage progression/upgrades correctly... and you know it. 2/5 - physics and graphics are fun... An exploding burning car is a good enough metaphor for the rest of it. Seems like there is a trend where games made for mobile have to be bad.
I just came in to ask why the guy on the kong thumbnail/pic for this game has so many gross strings of drool in his mouth. Whats wrong with him? When I open my mouth it does NOT look like that. He should see a doctor immediately.
I think you would have a better rating if you just classify this as a basic platformer. I came because the first two tags are "Adventure RPG"... its not a bad game or anything, but its trying to act like more than what it really is.
On Kongregate you only have 9 vague options to choose from when you add a game, so we picked the closest ("Adventure") and it stuck those tags in there. Looks like people have been upvoting and downvoting the tags so it now shows Platform and Side Scrolling first though.
Since gold is infinite and you can beat stages incrementally, the fastest way to beat it is to just send wave after wave of soldiers and let them all die.
