don't give up just because you lost your portal you cab still use spells. if you use the necromancy spell well you can fight off enemies for a large amount of time simply with resurected skeletons, and with meteors you can aid the skeletons or kill more people you plan on resurrecting. finnaly for the end of the game diablo is perfect for no-portal fighting as you can call him down to waste a group of enemies then resseuect them all
-_- this is kinda sad. in mission 4 ross was getting clobbered by the imperial forces so he sends about 5 dropships towards the fortress, and despite the 10 dropships (enemy) at the fort and the hundred undamaged guns the game is still won because we captured the fortress for half a second.... perhaps it should be capture and hold?
so madagascar closes everything in like 20 days... but greenland still has a working hospital even though it has been completely destroyed? they got a vaccine even though they had 0 population :/

tip for dropship charges: don't sit and leave troops at bas (except howitzers) charge enemy forces if you want to disable their dropships (and escorts) before they arrive, a fleet hovering over a planet usually only get 1-2 dropships before they start landing, but a fleet that attacks the squad directly usuaslly gets them all
love the fame but one thing- i have a rather slow computer and in the middle of battle i can't give more than 1 order at a time without lagging the game completely and leting ym ships go fight alone, please add an option to help prevent lag for a sequel. great game though
i must admit it seems a bit foolish that my 300 man elite viking army should retreat after suffering 10 casualties from an archer unit he just killed.... not to mention that this won the battle for me and therefore running away did nothing whatsoever
watch out for morale it can save or kill you if you don't. tips: 1. any unit not dong anything TAUNT!! it lowers enemy morale and raises yours don't waste a unit. 2. if a unit is pink GET HIM OUT OF THERE. he may be about to run, instead fall back and use him to taunt the enemy. 3. watch your and the enemy kings, if you lose a king your morale will die and same with the enemy, i was losing one round but then i killed the king and half the enemy fled.
