The best way to make a scary game scary, is a lack of ammunition. I wish there were more things to interact with, tho. For instance, you could hit keys on the piano to aggravate the ghost. Perhaps this could be used to draw the ghost away from another area that would otherwise be impassable, in which case you'd have to run out of the room and hide immediately after playing the keys.
Creating teams with friends can be frustrating. I wish there was an option to be able to choose sides(red or blue) upon creating a new room. Another good option to have is to be able to set the max numbers of players in a room.

At the end of the eight minutes there should be a nuclear detonation, and anyone inside their own base gets fifteen extra points. That's how i would have done it.
Not that i think the game needs to be changed, but just an idea- you could have progress bars that let you know when you need to eat, drink, empty a bowel, sleep and exercise like in the sims. You could set it so that eventually one of the bars will overwhelm you and cause you to die from malnutrition, dehydration, constipation, etc. making it a game to see who can survive the longest. Then you could ad a scoreboard. But, i don't know if that would detract from the atmosphere you intended.
Hey, we even thought about that. But somehow I think it's best to let the user decide what kind of rat they are. Another idea was to display an increasing score as long as you're in the wheel, without any meaning. Just to make it more absurd. ;)
my strategy is eat, drink, poop, nap, with intermittent exploring. it may not be the best strategy, but you definitely need to try pooping. It is great.
