The cursor isn't actually as big as it appears- Only the point at the end of the image is the cursor, so size doesn't matter.

Make the fade-ins / fade-outs use about 1/3 the frames they do now. It's okay if they're choppy.
Also eliminate the "+ ? xp" animation after every attack. Pointless annoying.
I suggest eliminating the "action" option on the combat menu and relocating the "attack" and "item" buttons to the main combat menu.
