I think that your beast should get stronger if it is max level, because it is impossible for me to feed it and I think it would make use of some of the extra stones you have.
@garnetauco your spirit beast skills (the ones that happen automatically too) take energy
@tasimb The whole point of that is that each beast has speed and being the mouse would make dodging too easy.
@dragondave17 I'm pretty sure it's impossble because of the fact you have no items, have probably half the mana, half of the health, half the damage, and probably can't do as much damage and I even specilize in one type of bolt (high or low) so I can spend more points on other things (so that it would be full defense and one attack and you will have 10 more points to spend until later in the game) but I still think it is actually impossible.
For those who are complaining about mana: Basic attacks are # of bolts + power = mana cost, when you cast your special (add curse, freeze, poson, etc to your bolts) the mana is the max amount that you can add, if you can add up to 20 freeze or whatever, it will cost you 20 just to add it to your bolts. Other than that, they will tell you in the training ground. I have heard people complain "why am I spending more mana" and I found out why.
@caryno the special is this: There are 4 different places for those special attacks. From right to left (the two right next to each other on the right need the same): 20 (for both), 40, 60, 80. You also will need mana/blood etc.
@drrockso3 After checking my history, I found I had 4200-something, with #1 on book, black robes, and Fame: Legend (597) and Reputation: Satan (-396) clan was chaos desert, (which is way overpowered now that I've played every clan with 10 extra bolts and burning which totally destroys everything, so I was able to get more skills (level 210).
Bet you can't beat that.
BTW for the people who don't know there are two (and 2+ more later on) stories you can go after in the Black Robes. You can cleanse the poison or not cleanse the poison, and then later you can cleanse the clan leader's poison or not, but either way you win.
