I hate to say it (actually i don't) but everyone complaining about how there's too many achievements and it makes the game too easy? you asked for it. needs more achievements/badges/bigger badder weapons, yadda yadda. game developers notice, and this guy put so many achievements in that the game is oversaturated with them. great, huh?
Well...look at it this way. how much fun would he have had it back on Earth? No bouncy surfaces. although the least they could have done was get him a trampoline or something...
easter egg: after you've beaten normal, if you go back and make a significantly higher profit than you did the last time, new wallpaper skins will be opened up for some of the rooms. So far i've managed to get new skins for levels 2 and 4, and they're easily the best art in the game.
A few ideas for a possible sequel:
offensive artillery is a must. no Napoleonic army would use skirmishers against an enemy base. Perhaps a story campaign for each country. Perhaps include Spanish guerillos as one possible new country. also, perhaps different formations for different countries. British assembled in square, french and prussians assembled in line. engineers should be flanked by skirmishers so they're more difficult to pick off. perhaps a new enemy unit could be exploration officers--spies--to prevent defenders from making repairs. basically the only problem with the game is that it's too easy and needs better enemies.
@venturesome: whiners always get rated down. Get used to it.
You gotta get rid of that calendar function. in the long run, a bunch of whiners complaining about bugs doesnt matter as much as a button that effectively lets you win without planting any soldiers or barricades.
I really like your use of Greenjackets for the British. Feels like playing with Sharpe.
that was rather boring, but it did bring back the good ol' days when black men were only seen in the media as knife-wielding hoodlums providing fodder for strapping young kickboxing American heroes. 4/5 for nostalgia...an extra half-star for the opportunity to beat up dinosaurs with a sledgehammer.
Something most people (including myself) miss: if you're having trouble with a level you can click on the entrance arrow and 'retreat' to the previous level where life and energy will be restored. you can do this once per level. I'm not sure if this is something that only applies after level 10 or if you can do it during the regular campaigns as well.
Lucifer--conjuror is great for expelling summoned cult entities in one shot. also good for reviving allies to full health regardless of intelligence stat.
