RP loss for killing civilians has to be rolled back. i just started a new game, drove through the first three checkpoints, killed 70 zombies/military and shook off ten more and killed 20 civilians along the way. total points: 43.
Lame.
the monroeville reference is a nice touch. this game ought to be called 'Escape Malton'. I agree with the friendly fire idea, maybe make a special class of armed civilians--vigilantes, essentially. they'll shoot zombies--thus robbing you of RP, and they might also shoot you if, like the army, they think you're infected. it would be nice to be able to shoot down helicopters with your pistol, or perhaps add a new skill allowing you to use heavy weapons.
for people complaining about unit imbalances: Yes, the grey knight is really powerful, yes you could just take all elite grey knights. but the game is easy enough that you could beat it with ANY combination. multiplayer involves more ingenuity to win. I used four bowmen and a swordman (as a meatshield). I kept losing throughout the first half of the game. then i got longbowman status for my arrows and BAM, campaign over and i'm crushing multiplayer teams. the game isn't that unbalanced.
If you like these sort of choose your own adventure games, try Hegirascope. Like Thousand Dollar Soul, it has a lot of content, some of it mature. It's a bit harder to navigate, but still really good.

actually it's easy enough to have more than 20,000 skill points by the end of the game when including all the various attributes you can increase. also you can continue the game and get everything (eventually). so i doubt many people are using bots at all.
why does undefined keep churning out the same repackaged trash over and over again? why can't they grow some fresh ideas? I mean they got rid of those crappy maps they've been using since the original protector, and what did they replace them with? EVEN CRAPPIER maps. with poor unit placement as an added bonus. then as a further bonus they made the game mechanics more complicated than necessary--harvesting materials? who has time for that?--and dumbed down the game interface. why are we playing with children? what's the point? it's not like my pet protector, guys, it's just dumb cartoons. this game is like a caricature of the original protector.
