Yeah... about those torps...
Our type 3's do 9 damage--you can't even kill a drone in one shot... aliens do what, 20? I cannot remember exactly, but the number is noticeably different.
On top of that, teleporting torps, with their near 100% probability of hitting home vs stealth torps... which look cool... but have very few instances when they would be useful... teleporting torps win, hands down. The other two variants seem roughly the same.
Simple, cleaning up multilayer of hackers, so everyone can have fun. Yes, it's "Just a game," but people are getting more than they came for right now, if you follow.
comrade is too funny for words. I'm going to go back to playing, reporting (via recording) hackers, and thinking up cool ways to improve the game. If anyone needs me, you'll find me in my normal places--S-15-19, or S-0-9.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
Free speech? that's called flaming, and is not allowed. I've calmly presented evidence, while you have flamed. There's a significant difference there that I think you've missed.
RE: Silver's suggestions:
1) Interesting thought. It's been brought up before, but it never really went anywhere. We'll see
2) this request, like countless very similar requests, will undoubtedly be turned down. It promotes people coming into multilayer and "spamming" weapons, and then leaving, as well as stacking weapons in ways that balancing the game is made near impossible. Such a downfall in the gaming industry is called a "dominant strategy," and is a BAD thing--you always want there to be an endless supply of ways to win, not just one no-skill required, overused tactic that everyone must do to have a chance at surviving.
3) As a programmer and game developer myself (granted, in C++, but a game is a game), I have to say that while I know nothing of how Ben has laid out the design of this game in the code, this idea strikes me as one that is near impossible, though a most interesting thought
I like how you think though, keep it up, Ben is always interested to hear new ideas
He put the kill requirements back where they were before, and added gang color spots to the new ships.
801 is not a bit much, I got nothing for a whole 12000 kills when I was in my warship, shooting for the next thing above it at the time, the admiral class warship. Patience, padawan.
The real joke is that kyd has the audacity to storm into the game, accuse high-rankers of hacking, and then bug out. That's the part I'll never understand.
As much as I disagree with his morals, I don't think we should sink to petty name-calling. Fighting fire with fire will only give you a bigger fire here. Simply refer to exhibit A, and make your own individual judgments.
Quoted:
I give you exhibit A:

Yes, I missed a “d” in the word “recorDed,” so kill me.

End of argument.
Let's get back to the real reason we have comments--writing comments about the game, typically to the creator, and always about the game, not one pathetic player.
Give it up, Kyd. You flat out told us you hack. I'm tired of you trying to un-say what you have already openly said. Ben said he would not give your account back, and he even gave a reason, which he doesn't even have to do if he doesn't feel like it--he was being generous in that regard, and you should be thankful for that.
Reputable players, like Darth Sirov, LockedTarget, grundish, myself, etc., etc., etc. have either seen you hack, or seen you say that you hack (or both!). Stop saying you don't, it's pathetic, and is doing nothing more than wasting space here.
Bottom line: We're not stupid, so give it up.
Locked Target is absolutely right. I killed a script kiddie by the name of eliminator1 in an elite destroyer like I was swatting flies way too many times. Taking on people like grundish or locked target is a whole other story, as far as elite destroyers go.
