Came back to give this another play. Love it when I know I had solved something previously but cannot for the life of me figure out what to do on a replay (yet). Still looking forward to a sequel.
Actually, I've kinda put the sequel on hiatus (sorry!). I'm currently working on a different game right now. I'm planning on finishing 5SS 2 sometime, but it might not be out for a while.
For those who like jronn's games and eddynardo's stuff, go check out a developer here who's been inactive for years but made games I think are of the same type and quality, TinSleeves: https://www.kongregate.com/accounts/TinSleeves
Another winner, bit short though, given how the first few levels were used to explain the concept - which is a great approach, just wish there were more pure puzzle levels. And that human looks a lot like eddynardo's humans in chests :) A fitting homage?
The humans are a re-skinned version of a sprite "0x72" has made, available free on itch.io (which is where I believe eddynardo gets his character art from). I'm a big fan of all of his games tho and draw inspiration from them :)
That's the plan :)
Regarding the speedrun time, I can see you have at least one time recorded. Not sure if it could have been some temporary delay/hickup but I'll look into it
Great concept, look forward to a sequel. Maybe a new mechanic in a sequel could be hollow red/blue/green pusher blocks that never link up, like the orange ones in the later levels, but able to be used to activate a marker.
Regarding losing saves - EXPORT YOUR GAME. I only lost a save when there was a big update to the game (on the 20th), something must've changed in the cookies/keys. But I could import and old game I had saved locally. Lost a little progress, but not much.
How many nightclubs do these people need? It's like a 40:1 ratio before they're satisfied! On that note, it would be nice to be able to click on a building and know how many of them there are, maybe highlight the others. It only tells me when I'm upgrading a building and click max. When everything's upgrading, I see know way of knowing.
Also, somehow distinguish insert mode better. I thought I was in standard mode and clicked on a building, and it inserts something new.
One more - the ability to deselect the thing I'm currently adding so I can click on stuff without accidentally adding a building.
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm working on some of these. Make sure you upgrade your nightclubs, that makes a big difference! You can deselect the thing you're adding by right clicking or by clicking on the building again.
Great game, but I think it could use a rebranding. The Reaper isn't know for his time manipulation skills. Lots to work with here, look forward to a sequel.
Thanks!
Well, he isn't just manipulating time. He's "taking life" from certain things thus slowing them down. But, yeah, I guess there were some flaws with the theme.
I honestly was not expecting a lot from this game. But, the physics of crate travel are damn effective and amusing, and even the water flow effect on it was well done. This could use more levels, very fun.
Is there any way for the level editor to prevent levels where the player doesn't have to do anything to win? Recent examples like "Woop Woop" where the player is trapped in a walled-in section, or the never-ending "hide in a corner while the whole board burns up" ones.
Maybe when the "solve puzzle" requirement is met in the editor, also run the level automatically with no user input and see if it solves itself and not allow those.
