This is a brilliant idea, and I can tell Kongregate users will be keeping this dev so busy with ideas and things to add and fix. I hope Kodiqi enjoys the Kongregate Idle/Incremental Dev lifestyle :D
Clever idea for a relaxing set of seasonal games, and "advent calendar" of casual games :-) I'm going to have to look up some of those answers for the penguin one though, because I don't know how to make a Swede, apparently...
Hey, thanks for playing ;) There are currently around 200 questions in the quiz minigame to play with so there's some info to get from there :D We're spending quite some time trying to guess good answers and it seems we still have quite some road ahead until we become Christmas knowledge masters ;D
This is quite a nice game. I have some suggestions, though: First, make an easier start. Since the first on screen instruction is about dashing, allow the player to focus on that, so have a segment where they can dash through enemies without having to manage any jumps. Make it easy, but really cool, since the cool things you can do by dashing is a primary feature of the game. *Then* have a segment where there is an easy jump with a new message popping up about the jump key. Players don't generally want to hunt for instructions and/or read before they play, and the "I died twice and couldn't figure out how to prevent it" z also isn't intuitive, people expect w or up arrow, so you kind of need to "shout" it a bit. Good luck with the game! :)
"Idle" is a bit of a misnomer for most of the incremental upgrade games you see with the idle title or tag. This one has none of the incremental upgrading and complicated systems and all the waiting of the old school "something to have up while you chat" idle games of the past.
This is quite a nice platformer, and very underrated, IMHO. If you like platformers with a challenge, possibly too hard for me, but not for you, then you should definitely check this game out and give the rating you think this deserves.
Nice so far, and a cool GiTD twist on the "card" theme :) I like how high you can jump by clicking repeatedly. I felt like it was a bit...nonintuitive how close I could get to a danger door without opening it. I felt like a bit more indication of when you need to jump to avoid opening those doors might have been helpful. Very nice idea, though!
There are a number of really fun things about this game. A couple suggestions, though: Black text on a black or really dark background is pretty unreadable. I would lighten the grey and make it colors of different shades of the same hue, but not to dark if you're using black text. I think it also might help, particularly when starting the game, if the moves for each note remained on the screen during play. It was hard for me to remember which moveset went with which note.
I really love this game. To me it seems a bit like some of the io shooters people like, but more attractive. For *me* the performance has been better than it is in a lot of live, multiplayer shooters. Kongatz, AwesometacularVG!!
Remember, you can still get the badges in "Offline Mode" Some people are reporting save issues. If you can, take the best screenshot you can, one that includes your username in the chat tab and your browser bar, and click "report missing achievement" and describe what happened. Do this while edmus is still the badge of the day.
Thank you for the comment JohannasGarden!
I'm glad you like the game. :)
Also, the screamers are called Mandrakes based on the mythical creature of the same name.
Nice game, especially for a Game in Ten Days entry! I am still working on getting a better feel for using the bow, especially knowing how long I need to draw it back, but the game looks quite interesting so far. I enjoy the different crop effects.
Thank you JohannasGarden, I really appreciate the feedback :)
