Absolutely love this game, bought the iPhone version too. Would love to see it taken to the next level with terrain effects, powerups, abilities, or larger maps. For instance: Artillery/Aerial Bombardment - occasional attack powerup, but can't hold ground. Dig In Defense - get a defense bonus, but can't move for a couple turns. Propaganda - powerup that prevents an enemy city from recruiting for a turn. Fog-of-War or progresively harder levels in a storyline would be a challenging option as well.
SOOOOO BORING!!! I wanted to claw my eyes out on level 15! It takes 20 minutes to beat that level and 45 seconds to beat the final boss. The block breaker game on your blackberry is more interesting and dynamic than this. And why is this called an RPG? There is no "role" to "play"! Who is giving this game 5 or even 4 stars?
There is no point to leveling up besides getting points. Your damage doesn't increase, your defense doesn't increase, your attack speed doesn't increase, your starting gold doesn't increase. Nothing helps you beat the game by leveling up. But, golly gee! I sure have a bunch of points! Too bad the game is pointless, pun intended. I took a phone call in the middle of a game for three minutes, didn't do anything, and was still alive. Pointless.
Also, Story was a little weak, maybe throw in a betrayal by Rogan, main character backstory, village political conspiracy quest, or a "you killed my father/wife/hamster, prepare to die" It would be interesting if the assasin and archer skills were more interchagable; it would have been cool to use "The Settup" before hitting a guy in the jugular with a Netherbow. Maybe change weapons in battle? Excellent game! Can't wait for the next part! Where's the tip jar?
Best RPG since Sonny! Requests for next Part: NPCs to join your party, I was waiting to pick up a mage the entire game before I realized it was just going to be me an Rogan (I'm guessing were saving that for future chapters?). Show what current attributes/bonuses/damage/defense are, I have a plus three this and a plus four that, but all that is shown is the base attributes. I don't know if Agility +1 is better than Critical +3%. Maybe show Strength 25+5, and show the potential effect of choosing an attribute before you"+" it. Love the side quests! Female characters whould be a good add. More and greater variety of bonus items, only four that I found.
Most original breakout gae I've played in a while. Lots of thought went into it, there is a ton that oculd be added too, like shooting those @#$%n birds, achievements, etc. It's not clear how you earn the stars for the level. Level 20 is sooper secret as in not there. Great job!
suggest adding levels of difficulty, past level three, it was too easy. A greater variety of baddies would force different strategiesd as well. Loved the concept! Will we see a #2?
too much of a grind past level 12, the power ups are too few, too early, and give no progressive advantage as you move on. Fun game, put I got bored after 16. 3/5
can you update the game please? The pace is great and the variety of attacks are fun, but...
1)MORE CARDS! Quantity, varirty, and type! there are only two Character cards, two different types of tomes, etc.
2)The creature defense is confusing and inconsistent. Sometime one will disappear, or both, or none at all
3)stack tomes!
4)the Whatley character card doesn't return the taint after it is removed once.
5)all thirty rounds are basically the same, just more life, magic, etc. Maybe add challenges or MORE CARDS. Better yet, introduce new cards of increasing power as the rounds progress. There is little incentive to slog through 30 rounds when they are all the same.
6)there is no way to eliminate opponents' arcane magic
7)bring back insanity effects (I know we've all heard this one already)
This game is soooooooooo close to 5 stars. Thanks for the effort, hope to see more soon!
not that I don't like the game play or upgrades, but it's called "Parasite" Strike, right? Did anyone else only see 5 or 6 parasites the whole game? I killed a billion helicopters and jets though. Let's call it Helicopter and Jet Strike instead. Love the Nobel-prize-winning-scientist-slash-ace-fighter-pilot thing too. Anyone else want to smack the smirk off that guy? And a dragon? Really? Can't get 5 stars if the story makes no sense. BTW, there are some "sweet spots" in your boss fights where you can sit, fire away, and never get hit by anything significant.
slow loading, laggy action. the actio was inconsequential to the message. Great concept, but have what I'm doing and how I do it mean something, or this might as well be Super Mario or Quark.
I don't get it. There is no visual correlation between the explosion and the number of birds killed. Why am I upgrading? What is the goal? This was all pointless.
Great concept, 4 stars for potential alone. I really wish you'd update it and fix the bugs. I've played three different times and had to reset for three different bugs.
Game issues: I can't tell what my damage is until I use a weapon or a skill. Don't know what floor I'm on, the game stopped telling me after about 20ish. There is no variety in the baddies anymore: I've fought ice knights, poison orbs, bears, and fire robots with the same poison orb boss for twenty floors now with no change. The bosses are stuck at level 10 weakness, they are the easiest to kill on the whole level with weak drops. The chests are simillarly stuck: getting a armor 20 when I just threw away a armor 130 I picked up from killing a baddie is a waste of time and incentive. And now I've been kicked off the leaderboard/chat server; since there is no save feature and the only way to reconnect is to refresh the browser and lose all my progress, there is no incentive to play anymore. i've essentially beaten this game since there is no end or incentive in site. Well, I'm off to suicide my lil' golem. Great game, hope these comments help everyone.
Right now I'm at level 72, 16str-35sta-95wil-235int, $2,375,150 cash. Using golem cursed, built up stamina just enough to take a few blows, and poured everything else into intellect and some willpower. The only spells in need are shield and entangle. Creep into a room, get the attention of 1 to 3 baddies, run far enough away so your don't attract more attention (use entangle if two many are chasing you or if you run out of magic), and use either bolt or ignite to kill them all before they can even swing. In some cases, I have enough magic to kill 5 before my shield runs out, taking no damage. I never have to swing, so I don't spend anything on strength and very little on stamina.
This is JUST the beginning!
