Well, the graphics are better than the first game, but the gameplay isn't any better -- and might actually be worse. Also, that endlessly repeating "DRAG MODULES" hand? Lose it! Maybe have it repeat a couple of times at the very beginning of the game, but DON'T have it show up again if I'm removing everything from my ship. I know what I'm doing, and if I'm stripping everything off, it's because I want to do a major reconfigure!
Is it me, or did this game open up with a Kobayashi Maru scenario? I was surrounded by hostile ships, and I couldn't escape. Not very welcoming for a new player. Also, my gunners keep shooting the cannons on the WRONG SIDE of the ship, the one away from my target. Guess I'll stick with playing Sid Meier's Pirates.
I agree with the others: it's very pretty to look at, but that's about it. The interface is jerky as hell -- the slightest move of the mouse means I'm suddenly looking at something 60 degrees or more from my previous point of view; scrolling needs to be a LOT smoother. Also, I finally made my way across the bridge, I had to struggle to get up just three stairs... and then I found myself suddenly teleported into the middle of a field outside the castle when I had been at the front entrance moments before. The worst part was when I fell in the chasm and couldn't get out. This needs a lot of work.
I agree with the person complaining about the randomness of shopping. "Here, buy this! At least 85% of what you buy will be useless to you, but sometimes you might get something good! Just keep spending coins until you find a worthwhile item." "But I ran out of coins." "That's okay, you can spend real money to get coins!" Could you maybe be a little less transparent about your desire to get paid?
The harvest mechanic was added very late in the development. Removing the object harvested, would've been a lot of work. Had I done it more properly, it wouldn't have been a problem.
Repeatedly stuck on the "Loading data" screen even though it says "100%" up in the corner. As soon as I click the browser's reload button, a menu finally pops up (for a split-second). Guess I won't be playing this game...
I can see why Sandbox Mode wouldn't have all of the characters to interact with that the Story Mode does, but it would be nice if there were still healers in the Tribal Region.
I'm experiencing a lot of freezing on the load screens myself. "All right, let's go do this mission!" And then the game gives me a screen that's empty of all but the pointer/cursor. "What mission? Sorry!"
To arob1: the issue with the Kivi isn't an unwillingness to work, it's a lack of raw materials. If you're willing to make supply runs for them to keep the yarn coming in, they'll start making jackets again. (Also, jackets can often be sold in bulk in Orth while still making a sizeable profit. If you find the Orthlings don't have enough money to buy everything you're selling, hang out in town until another caravan stops by. That gives the shop a fresh supply of cash.)
Okay, so I sold some weed in Ozbet and Toowoomba and now they're mad at me, but how am I supposed to get on their good side again? Killing bad guys doesn't improve my reputation with them, and I can't exactly drop off prisoners in their towns if they won't let me in...
Okay, seriously? Having this thing keep clearing my save slots is getting annoying. I'm glad there's a "save to file" option -- which I quickly learned to use, by the way -- but that should be in case of unusual circumstances. I shouldn't have to keep relying on it.
I know it says "Performance may drop during loading", but I wasn't expecting my browser to completely freeze for several minutes, doing nothing whatsoever. Even after it finally woke up and loaded what looked like the actual game, it still took several minutes before I was actually able to even scroll down to the comments! I'm probably talking about eight or nine minutes of downtime in all. (I opened the "most recent comments" in another tab so I could close the game tab and actually *do something*.) Guess I'm never going to be playing this game.
Could we please have marriage pact gift time limits reset at midnight ET like everything else on the server instead of operating on a rolling 24-hour schedule? That would make things *so* much easier. "You can only consider this gift once a day." But it's a new gift, and a new day!
Why isn't my main character allowed to get any of this additional training, like the police academy or the veterinary institute? And why does the gear get stripped off my hireling when he attends?
