Could someone please post a "Bug Highlites" of PoP on Youtube, because I'm not getting ANY bugs as of chapter 3, and would geek out to know why it bugs on some systems and not on others.
Automatic 4/5 for the "rewind time" feature. It's refreshing to find a running game I can actually *play* instead of Run-Fall-Restart, Run-Impaled-Restart, Run-Die Horribly-Restart.
I'm sure that by now Greg has a decent grasp on which games should get badges. ;-) The Badge system, the "Hot New Games" section, and the "Monthly and weekly Contest" areas call merited attention to games which otherwise would have fallen between the cracks. I've played *so many* awesome games. running the gamut from amateur/independent to professionally developed, and even *gulp* advertising games. Playing this game for less than a minute (which is about the average amount of time I give to playing a new game) I found the controls to be different. and interesting without being clunky, the visuals are good, mechanics are solid, gameplay is both forgiving and interesting and the music has been on my speakers for the last five minutes without scrambling for the MUTE button.
If this game was from a high school kid in Arizona would it still be getting all this heated debate? It is the *game* that matters, not he who funds it.
Remember when it comes to the difficulty factor, it may seem easy, but there's not one of you that would weigh out as "average skill" or lower. It seems easy to us because we are very, very good at what we like.
Defiance level is definitely busted, but this shows a dramatic improvement over the first two gems.
The rorschach level in particular (maybe I just need my first cup of coffee, but I kept seeing scary faces!) and the mouse tracking creates a neat variation on 3d, plus I like to make buildings dance. 5/5
resume save doesn't work for me
xrate, there is no content in this game that *requires* payment to win the game. There are purchasable upgrades to make it *easier* to win, and these upgrades have the curious side effect of allowing the game developers to have a hot meal from time to time and focus time on making more games instead of trying to make the next rent payment. I'm surprised you don't see this.
agree with deli on the spark plug and clamps, workaround could be wrench and colored fuses for the fusebox in the van (it needed to be disabled or else the van would've been stolen) Couldn't understand why I couldn't break into the desk with the hammer (hammer breaks wood, variation on Rock/Paper/Scissors)Loved the irony(?) of the safecode they needed to escape being on the Wrong side of the cabinet door they used to barricade the window. 4.5/5
Can only be considered a rip off of Storm The House if by "rip off" you mean "I'm a spoiled douche that thinks that because apples look alike they must taste the same:
1 Here you have just one type of gun, and can upgrade the power of both the gun and ammo
2 the artillery and airstrikes are actually necessary to a successful strategy
3 Storm the House clogged the CPU of my (relatively) new computer I lagged down to 2 seconds *a frame*
For those having too-easy/too hard difficulty issues either pull back or push up the graphics quality to suit. At optimal settings the challenge can surpass Ludicrous Speed).
(The ending did blow little rabid monkey chunks, though)
Extremely well balanced, challenging, only complaint is that the images of the wrecked mechs stay on the screen for about a second after they die, and it confuses my targeting. Other than that, this game would have been a quarter muncher at the arcade back home. Well done. 5/5
PLEASE, people, don't be a sneek. (Snob +Geek). It does bear a striking resemblance to Mushroom Revolution...because it's a TOWER DEFENSE game. I found it alot more balanced than MR, and the emoticon combinations made my wife giggle. Epic win right there. 5/5
journey's end at 450,000. Should have taken the bus. 3/5 Music is not appropriate, ninja is skipping on clouds to the bad guys castle, not opening up a hair salon.
I never thought I'd live to see the day I'd play a driving game that didn't demand the reaction time of a crack head at Starbucks The controls are spot on, and for that, the courses, the gameplay, and the music, I give 5/5.
