These games always feel like playing a bad D&D game with a bad DM and no player's handbook - not a lot of narrative and no idea what kind of shit to expect

let me try to explain better, the halberdier, the monster we start with does not appear in the menus for learn ability and strengthen in the fusion tower (I haven't bought fusion yet (4th fusion tower level), so I don't know if it also happens there). I'm assuming this's in order to protect us from destroying it by mistake, but that also means we can't upgrade him the way we can other monsters.

That is correct, he cannot be upgraded or sold.
This is beause he is a starting monster.
He has high starting stats, low mana his stats do not level up by much compared to other monsters. The aim is to encourage you to use a different monster.
EDIT: I have now made it so you can sell your starting monster and use it in fusion. Instead you won't be able to sell your last monster. Thanks again.
Thank you for the feedback, I added the monster level to help identify which monster you are selling to prevent you from selling high level monsters by accident.
You won't see the original monster in the shop to avoid not having a monster in the tower.
Items can only be used in the tower. You will need to take the strengthen item in the tower with you and use it there.

Hi Herocraft, if you meant what you said in your response to Lunea, please add "Demo" to the title of the game. That way people won't feel cheated or scammed when they reach the paywall
It's not a limited version of the game, you don't need to download anything extra to play it. It's not cheating, it's how the game is being monetized. Some elements are accessible after you unlock them, among them some areas of the map. By "Demo" it's meant that you can play the game and try all its mechanics, decide if you like it or not, and that's totally free. But still, I understand your concerns, I'll deliver the message to the developers!
The queue isn't enough to handle the spamming, either add an automated recruitment mechanism to make it more idle , or reduce the recruitment times to a 1/4 of what they are right now to make it less so. right now it's plainly annoying, especially since you can't have info about the size of the enemy's military size without constantly attacking it, which also makes it less idle!
Need to add a mechanism to automatically train troops to a definable # threshold (with an expected gold/s maintenance cost) alongside with queue instead of constantly having to spam them manually, at least if you mean for this to be an idle game
Hi, just a reminder, you can't make things knowingly for kids on this site, because COPPA (at least not something that requires registration, so no cloud storage), otherwise you can get fined for up to ~42k$

I've made it so shiny swords and shields sell for 200 rather than 100. Thank you for suggesting why.
