I think my only problem with throwing a character who, by all appearances, starts OUT sane and then goes into this room of crazy*but perhaps it's wrong to assume that our detective character here was previously sane*- is that there WAS an interaction with the world that is not enclosed with this room, but we IMMEDIATELY lose that... and get no real reaction from our character? or any reaction about say- the incident in the second chapter. If you want us to question if anything happening in this story is "real" or not- it generally helps to have an anchor of reality and reaction- to help have a comparison AND to eventually throw away and REALLY screw with the player.
perhaps some way to conquer a solar system without having to fight every planet because at least as of now, I haven't seen a challenging set of planets anywhere. maybe just make A *read-Singular* challenging battle specifically to take over a solar system quickly. obviously attack all should also remain an option.
..I WANT to get through this without requiring assistance, but the puzzles require some ... maybe not obscure knowledge, but knowledge that is perhaps not everyday... and even if I did without the walkthrough, I still have to search for random things on the internet when I just want to make progress in the game screen. I get what you're doing with the puzzles but argh, I kinda wish I could keep all the gameplay within the game window and not have to search.
I just like the instructions. use keyboard and brain to type in commands.. hmmm.. *removes brain from skull, flails it wildly at keyboa andiueniafiubaefuiaebfauiebdadaeufna*
I gotta say, for an alpha, at least you have SOME substance here. a bunch of other similar games in alpha I've played have basically nothing. so, kudos on that.
I can't explain WHY I thoroughly enjoy the fact that the "coins" *whatever form they're in* have physics interacting with each other, but I do enjoy it!
you should probably implement a system to select what the blacksmith can forge, rather than always do everything he can, that way you can save up for castle buildings.
it's kinda... ridiculous actually that you can have a number of completely ineffectual strikes simply because a particular unit is weakened, given that largely you should be doing more damage with each unit than individual enemies *I'm fairly certain this holds true through MOST the game* the fact is, an enemy losing damage on knocking out one of your guys is minor to enemies, but you losing major hits because of targeting a unit with 1 hp is HUGE.
maybe uh.. maybe don't release a game seriously on aprils fools. I mean I haven't clicked it yet so maybe there's still a gag waiting for me but... if it is real just.. bad timing is all.
