It wouldn't be that damned hard to just give us one female avatar / portrait for each type and turn off the custom equipment for them, just leave them looking the same. It's the same as using a custom sprite or portrait anyhow. why not give us some female ones?
I sided with the girl. I "refused my final mission" by quitting the game. Not cool throwing her under the bus like that, I liked her. And I wanted to punch Quaid in his ugly face. Not cool taking her out and making me work for him, I refused to do it. I won't be finishing this game now, and I look forward to the idea of Quaid getting blown to hell without me.
Fun game, very addictive. Here are some requests:
Give a +1 to each stat per level, even if you reduce the spendable points to 2 per level, so that you can customize your character but also not leave less favored stats completely behind.
Red dots in the map overlay depicting enemies would be very useful, so we can know what rooms have not yet been cleared instead of looking around for enemies and potentially missing some.
And the most important feature of a roguelike that was neglected here, the ability to store good equipment between deaths. It should be limited, but we should get a chance to save some of the goodies we earn for later playthroughs.
It's a damned shame that people with nothing better to do than get offended on behalf of pet causes to make themselves feel holier than thou have forced a name change onto this game.
Here's a news flash: retarded people cannot operate computers, navigate web pages, play complex video games, or, oh yeah, READ. They're not gonna know some video game character is named "Retardo" nor is it certain they'd care if they did. Now if by some chance a large number of the mentally damaged somehow found out about it and got their feelings hurt by it, o then change the name. As it stands, the only people with a problem with it are people it doesn't apply to and who should mind their own bloody business.
Kosedragon:
What mode are you playing in? Survival mode is indeed a royal b!tch and a half, but the quest modes aren't so bad on regular difficulty. The important thing to remember is be careful and pick your battles on the low levels until you get some skill points and decent equipment to work with, and then tackle the harder battles. You can level up simply by exiting a level no matter how little you've fought, and you can spend a little while just hitting the treasure rooms and weaker battles until you're strong enough to handle bosses.
With the right gear, the right skills, and the right strategy you can handle whatever the game throws at you, but you can't expect to just hit the "attack" button and expect to win. You have to plan your battles carefully and prepare for the enemy, or you'll continue to get your @ss handed to you.
