Kudos, the skill shown in boiling complex philosophical concepts into an easily understandable game was brilliant. Complimenting such with the nostalgic soundtrack, that brought back memories of youthful game experiences that were truly invigorating, and the expressive and somewhat ethereal animation, along with the subtle humor, was nothing short of profound game development. I would be honored to work with any of you, or play any of your games in the future. Spectacular job, Connor, Valerie and all of the team! A wonderful and imaginative diversion was born from your collaboration.
Okay, I refrained from using the "Your face is ugly" argument throughout the entire game, but after building credibility with the arbiter, in the last debate, I chose to use it, because it made the most logical sense at that point (explained momentarily), yet I lost all credibility and the game?!? While I debated several unattractive men during the game, the arbiter is the most unattractive. Not just because he wears a skull mask, but because there is no stated reason for him to do so (though one might assume it is to give him the semblance of a reaper or other visage of death, it is not explained so). So, it is equally reasonable that he may wear such a mack to hide horrible disfigurement, something like the phantom in Phantom of the Opera. Therefore, his face could reasonably be uglier than a baboon's backside! It is the most logical placement of that amusing argument, but sadly the most penalized.
Wish there was a badge for completing all levels with a gold leaf, or one for maxing out your skills/spells. One easy and one medium badge just don't seem enough, especially when the game is enjoyable.
They said save often. Didn't realize that was because my game might fatally glitch by emptying my inventory when I progressed into the wilderness scene. So no chain, wheel, candles, padlock etc. Bummer. I was enjoying this, but with all the time walking back and forth, it's not worth it to restart. :(
The second glitch in this area, happened when I had filled both cups correctly at the same time, without pressing either button. Once filled, I pressed the first statue's button, which turned green. Pressed the 2nd statue's button and it turned red, despite being correctly filled. Then, while trying to refill it, any pressure plate reemus stood on stayed pressed, and I could not change colors.
When trying to move him to the other pressure plate, Reemus would say that Reemus was there and he was not a cuddler... That one, while amusing, could be fixed by restarting the level.
Ok... Killer bug not fixed! To be precise, zeebarf, I encountered two glitch scenarios in scene 6 with the statues, only one of which makes the game freeze entirely, including the reset level button, making you start over. This occurs if you walk with Liam into the final room (with the door) and press the statue button with an empty cup. The light shines red, but when you press the button again to reset the statue, you can no longer move, swap characters, or reset level.
Seriously frustrating! Enjoyed the strategy elements of building and gathering, but would have built more defenses before mass producing the cure had there been any indication that doing so would cause me to be swarmed by zombies.
The shooting was really slow. I found myself yelling at the lil game people to fire the darn guns. What was that? Reload time? Apparently only one villager was shooting since they needed time to reload after each shot.
And where was a save option? Come on.
I selected this, excited to see that another dead frontier had been released... And was miserably disappointed. As a fan of the texts games, but not particularly of shooters, what did you expect? I know you made a shooter MMO, but to completely switch formats for these casual dead frontier titles is unexpected in a bad way. More text-based games please!
Greatly enjoyed your rock jokes, you igneous game developer, you. Sorry rocks apparently hate you and like to hit you though lol. By the way, I um uh love you, too, I guess lol...
I have really enjoy the games, but I sometimes wish there were more choices that had real impact, like to save someone who would otherwise die, or even playing as a girl (which I am) because Sage is very appealing lol.
Great dialog, too! From flirtatious harlequins to weird drawings of torsos heads and legs which don't match (which is a game I might employ with my friends now lol) to touching moments of daughters missing their family in the age-old child stuck between parents struggle, and guys saying "she's still my sweetheart, all I did was ask if she was on her period." Whimsical, moving, and hilarious!
Shouldn"t there be a hard achievement for collecting all of the upgrades? You can easily beat the game without them, so it's like extra effort to continue the grind, and extra effort should be rewarded! (Upgrades is one of the tags after all.)
Another great sort option would be to sort by "Newest." That way I could quickly see the cards I just bought, to tear them up or investigate them further without having to sort through all the cards.
People please, do not give hamsters steroids. It would not have a humorous effect as pictured, but, in human doses, would kill the hamster. Thankfully no hamsters were harmed in the making of this animated game... I hope.
Yay! Thank you! I'm happy to hear you notice the little details!
