I dunno. I thought I was stuck, but simply sticking to my guns has got me a lot farther than normal. The trick is to carefully manage your exp and don't split up your ships' focus on abilities; your first Wasp should only bother with Rail Barrage, and your Hulk does massive damage with SR Missiles, for instance. Energy regen is amazing, but you need to get energy and plasma armor eventually or your ships will crumple in turn one. Stick +exp items on level 1 ships and keep them around in missions that are easy or allow an overabundance of ships, and, whenever feasible, let them lasthit enemies. It's not AS hard as everyone claims, although it's pretty friggin' hard.
I like this game, I really do, but it's ridiculous after some time how hard the game gets, with enemies that are both more durable and stronger than your ships.
Upgrades are way too expensive for the amount of metal dropping, making buying new weapons far more efficient than sinking the metal needed into upgrading a weapon. :/
What IS it with the rabid fanboys defending everything a producer makes? Let's be fair: Nerdook is incredibly talented, but this is one of his weaker games, if not his worst outright. To simply say "SHUT UP HE'S BETTER THAN YOU" is flawed reasoning; you don't need to make games to realize a game is subpar. To the ones that approve of how grindy and same-y the gameplay is and blindly vote 5/5, all you're doing is denying Nerdook the constructive criticism he needs to make even better games. Take the bias out of the equation and rate fairly depending on the merits of the game, not whether the producer made a game you absolutely adored. This is all coming from a fan of Nerdook, too. Please vote + so everyone can see.
Yuck. 1/5. Your worst game by far, it's way too dull, with too much of the same crud every level. There's no real rhyme or reason, just buy a bunch of upgrades and click everywhere until there's no robots left. At least you can't get any worse than this; I look forward to your next game.
1/5. Keep your drivel off of Kongregate until you can make games off of semi-original concepts. Plants VS Zombies does this so much better than you could ever hope for.
Why does it seem the overall quality of new Kongregate games is dropping? Honestly, between this and Toxers, I'm losing hope. It's as if people don't playtest their own games before releasing them.
I'm taking more damage from the poorly-placed accelerators at the beginning than anything else, especially because of the camera being too close to the rocket. Fix it already.
