I don't get why people are complaining about the auto feature being poor!... Why would you want to play this game in auto anyway? Let me rephrase that... why would you want to *watch* this game play out by itself, instead of actually playing it?!
I think the balance issues could be very easily resolved by just allowing for (much) better drops and shop items. I wouldn't touch prices, since a little grinding can easily make you rich and with better item drops you wouldn't need to spend as much in shops. Skills could use a little tuning too, with some better bonuses against armor. The Slave Market needs to be revised, since you end up buying them in the 1st town and completely forgetting about it for the rest of the game. The only truly annoying thing is having to give orders to downed gladiators, either let us chose to select auto for those during battle, or give them some useful skills... Everything else in my opinion is pretty well balanced. And unlike Swords and Sandals it's a lot sturdier and better coded, without all the NaN glitchs, the free-roaming is a lot more rewarding, and the RPG elements give it much greater depth. Altogether a better game which just needs a little tweaking.
Oh yeah, and PS: 5/5 stars for this great game. I get it having premium content isn't fun... i just find it funny how no one seems to argue against getting paid for their own work, but are so quick to pummel those who try to make a buck from theirs, if the work in case is a freaking awesome flash game! Logic fails me here... Also i fail to see how having in-game paying cheats on a non-multiplayer game, ruins the experience for everyone........ considering the revenue crap games like farmville are getting from milking couch potatos (potato milk does sound delicious), it really ticks me off to see people criticize these guys for trying to make a living.
PS: sorry about the spam...
For anyone finding the game too hard, all i can offer is what has been working out for me so far: spreading points evenly across all traits except speed (get it up to 20-30 and you'll be fine) and charisma (don't spend a single point here); have one Thraex gladiator (max out the first two skills, 1 point on the third, max the fourth); have another Dimachaerus (max out the 2nd and 4th skills); the third gladiator is up to you (i had another Dimachaerus but changed it to a Retiarus, a Murmillo might be good too). Then give the Thraex a two-handed weapon and the best armor, leaving the weakest for the Retiarus or Murmillo. Armor value varies between gladiator classes, helmets are generally not very important as it's the part of the body harder to hit, shoulders are extremely important for Retiarus and two-hand wielders, not so much for Thraex, torsos and legs are the weakest spots, and good torso armor is hard to find, so don't look at expenses when you find a decent one. Have fun.
I don't understand all the whining about the game being unbalanced. that may be just you failing to upgrade your gladiators properly. The first three towns were a breeze for me. I've only just now hit a wall on lv.6 of Tarsus Coliseum. I've got my team of three fully armored and sporting mostly blue and yellow items. I've completed all goals so far. Money hasn't been a problem since leaving the first town. I've got so much i've actually been wasting it resetting skills back and forth and experimenting and buying items left and right for the tiniest of stat differences...
Wish there was a never-ending crawl like on book of dread. Everything else about Chronicles is 10 times better than the previous title, but the campaigns are way too small...
The Single Player mode should have sandbox options to customize Deck Size, Victory Conditions, AI Difficulty, Available Tricks, Number of Card Suites, etc.
Being able to adjust gameplay in this manner would make Single Player a lot less boring...
Still... aeons ahead of the epitome of boredom that was the classic War card game, from which Pax seems to spin from. Well done!
Start Mission not working on a lv37 warrior at stage 8. Running FF10 with Flash 11.1 on Win7 Ultimate SP1. Clicked Skip Dialog on the 7th mission (i think) and it froze forever... :(
Reminds me of one of the best flash games i've ever played - Robokill.
Couple of things are better, most aren't as good. But the comparison is terribly unfair.
The focus on opening doors seems totally pointless when there's no actual puzzling involved.
Overall it's a tad boring, maybe because the "space monsters" genre is a bit overdone, and it feels like i've played this same game hundreds of times before.
Suffers from bad mechanics. Monsters will stick to the wall when chasing you instead of finding a path around it. Lousy cat n' mouse action right there that just spoils the experience. Not being able to outrun the monsters, means death too often. The UI could be a lot simpler, complexity is not a synonym of quality. Tiny font, small icons, no graphic warnings on low HP or ammo. All this could use some work if you're planning a sequel.
Still 4/5 for all the hard work that clearly went into this. If you put half as much into making it better Outpost 2 will surely be awesome!
Loved it. 5/5. Faved.
Is AveeMuhaGames english? Because the text sounds translated. There's a lot of polishing needed in that area. The game could be a lot more engaging if the text wasn't so amateur...
One thing kept nagging me the whole game. You should be told wich creature you're about to fight when you're given the choice of character to play with. If it's just a crow i'll chance playing with a weaker fighter to test his new attributes. If it's a "boss" i'll want to use my strongest fighter. Either that or consider doing team fights where each fighter takes turns.
Please don't keep me waiting for the sequel too long! :)
Huge improvement from the first Aurora. The first played more like an escape the room puzzle, this one more like a graphic adventure. The art is stunning. Yeah, picking up an anvil was a weird choice, you could've just gone with tying the lever to a stump or something...
The only disapointing thing about the game is the lack of alternatives. Too direct, you don't have to scratch your head at anything, it's just go there, pick that up, go back, use the item, end the chapter....
The exciting thing about graphic adventures is having lots of possible paths and feeling lost until you find the right solution. Otherwise it's just an animated story.
5/5 for leaving me eager to see how much better Aurora 3 will be.
Rebuild was the best game i played in a long while. Thank you so much for making a sequel.
If i may be a little critic for a moment, please consider a different graphic approach to the new avatars. The photoshop cut-ups are really awful and don't really play with the rest of the art...
I'll even offer my own hours to help you designe them if you want (it's my line of work). That's how much i love this game :)
Rebuild 2 would be so much closer to perfection, were not for that...
Still a solid 5, nevertheless!
This game is almost as exciting as the '94 world staring contest.
It's a shame. It's got lovely retro graphics, an addicting gameplay, strategy, humor.
I'd really love to play a version of this game where you didn't have to wait for two hours to play for ten minutes. :(
For the game sake, you should seriously consider getting rid of the time limits and just invest on expanding content. Maybe that way you wouldn't have to charge so much for ridiculous items, instead charging less for more stuff.
Fun game! Really enjoyed! Actually played it two times in a row. Wich means two things: 1-it's addicting 2-it's too short. Would be nice if after battling the king you could go to another map and invade another country. This could mean dozens of levels until world domination. Or add some fantasy to keep it from becoming repetitive (eg. battling demons, dragons, satan himself as the king of the underworld).
btw, what does an SSS rating mean?
Love your games undefined.
But please allow me to suggest going easy on all the glitter and animations.
Bloats up the game and really doesn't had anything except making it slow and annoying...
there should be a button to skip your turn.
also an option to kick players out who are being obnoxious in case you're the room creator.
furthermore a button against cheaters, that when pressed by 3 or more people would skip that player's turn.
Having a never-ending campaign doesn't fit with the idea of being able to swap out party members.
