ok... tile reroll via energy cost was not my intended suggestion. please consider giving players total control of what their first 3 tile placements are. THEN after that give the silly reroll a standard cost (probably of gold) that does not give the same direction tile type as before. (honestly i'd be fine without tile control after the first 3, but that's just me)
alternate suggestion to gems for extra lives. change gems to greed tickets (credits) instead. maybe with the price scaling depending on how far you are in the level. say for example wave 1 death costs 10 credits for resetting the wave and 5 lives. with a wave 20 death costing 200 credits. simple wave number time ten = credit cost. and since credits are EASY to get it could reasonably be worth forking some over to cover for a screw up late game.
small QOL idea, the player can choose the first two tiles by clicking on them in the preview rotation window. reason for this? because it's annoying to click settings and end the game each and every time you get a wrong tile for your starting strategy and it affects nothing major in the grand scheme of things.
quality of life life suggestion, put the manual save button at the top in settings! :D also when is the undo button coming? it's been at least 3 updates since it was suggested the last time. :(
hmm similar to gadge I've experienced a slight issue with daily rewards being lost as well. might be a good idea to add an auto collect rewards feature to happen a min or 3 before new daliy rewards come around.
but i have found a small work around, collect the rewards than play a junk game and loose intentionally or quit after a round to get the collected rewards saved.
random idea. towers after getting maxxed out at level 30 have to be upgraded using a third in-level resource (different form money and energy) from lvl 31 to infinity. maybe even limiting this 3rd resource to score attack and tournaments or maybe endless mode?
hmm, but if such a game mode was created then treasure island tiles and such might need to be removed, and maybe a random treasure island bonus is awarded every 10 or 20 turns?
@bleurgh
sounds like a reason to make it optional. personally i'd rather have more control over that aspect. but the reverse could be an interesting idea. a game mode where the game randomly chooses where the tiles will be placed and players have to adapt to the crazy and annoying dysfunctional map designs.
island 92 needs to die in a hole. chainsawmatt has committed war crimes by suggesting this. ngl game was fun until this. now since i can't skip 92 i guess i'm only going to play conquest or replay the 91 actually fun levels.
and by the specialties need beefed or cost lowered i mean in comparison to how cheap and efficient research is. and raising the costs on research would just make things more grindy. so that's a fools option.
hmm, some of the specialties might need better balancing. imo the high tier ones simply aren't worth the amount of green ticket cost atm. or maybe some of them just need beefed up to be worth the costs? specifically i'm looking at the money and energy specialties.
man as much as i love this game allies betray way too easily. leave one area of boarder unchecked near a green smile ally with their boarder being blocked off and you ally decides screw the long term alliance i have i want land. -_-
random idea, what if there was a permanent artifact able to be bought with in-level gold or energy? i'd image some low teir ones would be quite weak but inexpensive, and high teir ones being in the millions for gold, and hundreds for energy.
reason i suggest the energy value refunding to work that way is because scraping common towers will still put the player at a net loss even if it was only there to pass the early waves and has no use other than synergy and ability effects for late game. and without any build tower slots in the game yet we need a little more versatility for tower management late game.
small improvement idea, when selling towers energy gets refunded in full if the tower is only 1 star. for subsequent stars energy get refunded to initial 1 star cost + half the upgrade costs.
oh now that i think about it the commando bot glitch only happen in late game near wave 70+. so it really just might be a lag issue causing enemies to slip past undamaged.
@dev. yea, i for a fairly long time ignored the animation as an indicator. but even with damage texts on I've noticed it glitch out. (i usually keep the floating texts off to prevent lag on my potato PC)
please do take a gander at commando bot as i'm convinced something is going on there even if i'm mistaken as to exactly what the issue is. heck maybe it's a lag issue and the problem is more my potato PC than game code. *shrug*
found a really annoying bug. on double speed the commando bot glitches out and doesn't attack. i assume it's crazy high attack speed has something to do with it. (i have some equipment that also boosts the already nutty attack speed) but it also could be due to it's attack animation. either way, it sitting there letting enemies pass and dealing no damage on double speed is an issue that needs fixed. also small thing i noticed is that bird of prey, actually attacks faster than commando bot despite it's lower attack speed on normal game speed.... but that one could be my eyes playing tricks on me. lol
Hmm, interesting. I haven't heard of this bug from anyone else. Don't use their visible attack animations as the measure of whether they are attacking or not. Like you said, with their nutty speed, and running at 4x game speed, their animations will be so short that it might look like they aren't doing anything, even if they are. Just put your damage texts setting on and you should see that they are indeed doing damage.
welp as you can imagine, the save deleting bug is still there. i was hoping it was related to people clearing browser cookies/history/etc. but nope. the game can randomly bug out when you start a new mission loading a empty map (without even the hexagon bits) and from that point on your data is gone. (no pun intended)
Working on it :). It's slowly approaching the top of my priority list as I complete other things.
