was sort of getting into it - had the same complaint about level 6 being near impossible but was starting to get somewhere and now - game loads and... nothing. Unity loads up, but no game.
I like what you've done in the latest update. My only beef now is needing to start over every time I come back - which you've mentioned will be addressed later.
Thanks! As soon as the balancing is finished I will initialize saving. Do you have any feedback regarding the balance of the game? I think that balancing is one of the most difficult things to get right, especially in a game like this.
not too bad, I haven't played the previous versions so I can't comment on how this compares. Perhaps the most frustrating part of the game is not being able to gain ANY exp if you lose, which happens a LOT on the first level. Maybe tie some small amount of exp to the number of waves survived regardless of the end result?
Hey, thanks for playing! Yeah, I think adding some sort of small bonus even for losing is a good idea. But, keep in mind that you only gain experience equal to your score on the level that is greater than your previous score for the level. So, if you make 500 the first time, and 400 the second, you will not gain any experience. But, if you make 500 then 700, you gain 200 experience. I think I will just make it to where you only get a portion of your total score if you lose, so it will still register as losing but you will have a recorded score and experience gain for the level. Thanks! I will try to update the game sometime tomorrow, but with the holidays I have a lot less time to work on it. I should at least be able to implement this, though.
I like these pet protector games, but PLEASE: for all of us with slower computers, is it possible to code an option to turn off the little sprites that get sprinkled all over? It makes the game run painfully slow.
level 4 is buggy - the fast zombie waves always have one that leaves the path at the 2nd turn. Also on level 4: after wave 50, the game gets hung up without finishing.
BUG - shock paddles crash the game every time (Firefox 10.0.2 - Flash 11.1.102.62)
Otherwise, not a bad game though some sort of option to reduce quality and/or background animations would be extremely helpful to cut down on the lag.
if you need incentives to not watch the walkthrough, it's painful to watch: maker of walkthrough video may have either been drunk or operating the mouse while wearing mittens.
ok, to everyone whining about the game not being realistic - go find a walk-in freezer, lock yourself in with a pocket knife and a stub of candle, have someone barricade the door from the outside. Now, try to get out - that's aught to be realistic enough for you. That also leaves the rest of us to enjoy a GAME without the dumb comments. Jeez, you're probably the same people who criticize action movies for bullets that never miss and guns that never run out of ammo.
adding my voice to the cry for checkpoints. If checkpoints are out of the question, at least allow some way to skip the dialog at the beginning of the mission. Also, the dialog boxes sometimes have a way of obscuring the enemy in a dogfight.
has potential, but you say it's "not a 2.5 game"? As it currently exists it's more like a 1.5 to 2 game. The preview screen is slow, twitchy. Gameplay is slow and laggy feeling. The damage is glitchy too: I've seen soldiers take direct hits that have flung them off the tower and several screens back yet not take a bit of damage. Those same super-soldiers will then take several more direct hits (assuming they can be found), including multiple rocket hits without dying. Add to that, projectiles that don't explode when they hit sometimes, or sometimes explode in mid-air without any obstruction. The text REALLY REALLY needs someone to proofread it for spelling and grammar. I know English isn't everyone's first language, but if you're going through the trouble to use English, please have someone help you.
If these things can be fixed, you have a potentially very fun game here.
AHA! Anyone stuck with indestructible bottles - turn the "screen shake" and "screen FX" back on. Don't know why this is bugging it - but I had mine turned off to let my slow computer keep up.
