As others have said, when you beat the last boss, the words "sector clear" scrolls across the screen over and over and it never moves from there.
Additionally, while I enjoyed the game- smooth, simple controls, straightforward upgrades- it's really just a reskin of Frantic Frigates. Do more with it, fix the bugs, and make it longer, and you have a 4 or a 5. As it is.... 1/5, sorry. Unoriginal, buggy, and short.
With all due respect to the effort required to make these games... this is basically a poorly done Kingdom Rush knock off with bad localization and poor game play. Sorry, 1/5, and that's me being generous.
Having some issues with this game in google chrome- it hangs during the load screens, and has caused flash to crash twice now in the span of about 10 minutes. Otherwise, a strangely addicting game. I like it. =)
I know this has been mentioned before, but I'll throw it out there again: some of the missions are near impossible once you have all the upgrades- for instance, run 500 meters with just the leader. Can't be done- once your vehicle "crashes," you automatically have 3 or 4 team members, and it's damn hard to deliberately get them killed without dying yourself. I think it would be GREAT if you could "discharge" members of your team, and maybe set up a heirarchy of units, so that when your team was full, your "worst" units would automatically leave to make room for "better" units- that way, each player could customize their team according to their play style and preferences. Really, though, this is a lot of fun, and I hope like hell there's either some upgrades or a sequel in the works.
Oh, one other thing- it'd be neat to be able to rearrange your units, or maybe even dismiss ones you don't want (for instance, I don't care for grenadiers all that much) so that you had room for ones you like better. =D
I enjoyed this game a lot, but it's replay value is a little lackluster. In addition to the suggestions others have made... perhaps add an assortment of "leader" characters with different abilities, or maybe rare-ish special units that only stay with you for a short time but are very powerful? Looking forward to the sequel!
Fun little game, but once you have all the upgrades and achievements, there's really no draw to play anymore. Endless mode, bosses, or a harder mode would remedy that. 3.5/5
It does a great job of conveying "creepy," but it's more frustrating than fun, as I experienced it. Also, the fact that when you lose, you have to reload the page to play again is a big design flaw in my book. 2/5 as is- sorry, just not much to recommend it as presented.
Thanks for taking the time to play The Pale One. I was sorry your experience was less than amazing. i had a retry button but it seems to have moved off screen after i built the game. i've updated the game and fixed this issue. please feel free to send me a message at Winterstories.studio@gmail.com with any comments or other issues you may have. as this is our first game any and all feedback is appreciated so we can provide better games in the future! thanks for your time!
I love this game. A couple suggestions: add a "speed up" option. Make the "click box" for the towers a little bigger- especially on the taller towers, I sometimes have trouble clicking the tower to upgrade it, and end up clicking on the units "in" the tower. Otherwise, I really love the way the game plays, and the giant units are absolutely brilliant. Well done!
