There were aspects of this game that had good design and so I can't completely brush it off, but I do find many faults and so I guess it's yet one more addition to the swarms of flash games that just make use of lame humor.
This is really a fun game. The series is challenging and the graphics are very nice. The content is mature, however. Right now the counting is buggy. Anyone trying to get the card, try different levels and difficulties. Some don't seem to work with the counter.
Heh, I should have looked; I commented on both other Fancy Pants games and not this one. Why?! Anyway, this is wonderful. If you haven't checked out the second game, you owe it to yourself. It's even better!
I am certain I've posted a comment on this game before. This was the series that brought me to Kongregate and I love every time I can play this game. Even in this first adventure, the level design and the joy of finding secrets is superb. I hope everyone is enjoying this. :) I five-starred it a while ago.
Yeah, I don't know, I really enjoyed it. I like that Kongregate switches things up. All the card challenges can't be the same sort of game or else people will be left out. This was really entertaining and casual. It was also a fun concept. Especially as Spring is coming. :)
This is a nice, tough retro treat. For danl9rm, you can change the controls in the options menu. For those who complain about the difficulty, bbobjs is right, you can change the difficulty. For those having a hard time getting to 500,000 points, try making use of the two previously mentioned things and just keep trying! :) 'Tis a good game.
Honestly, playing the other recently badged games in this genre impacted my experience of this game which I only considered average. It was entertaining, but as other have also pointed out, it suffers from dragging on between waves and I found it to be a bit too easy, as well.
In response to the few who commented on the controls, let me suggest using JoyToKey and a gamepad. Suddenly you'll realize the controls in this game are perfect. ;)
This isn't a bad game. I like the way the strategy and skill needed are balanced. A keen eye and a knack for planning will get you far. It's not necessarily my type of game but it was fun to get the the card. I may revisit this game for the other badges at some point.
Typically I don't like games that use blood and gore as a gimmick, but there is no denying that this game has a certain element that is addictive and a well thought out physics and intuitive control scheme. I especially like the use of mouse gestures to quickly select a weapon. Also, the idea of "alignment" is fun although I can't help but see "pacifist" as a misnomer.
I've been holding off on commenting until I've unlocked all the bonuses and attempted all the badges and now I'm only four shy of the juggling badge and probably a few easter eggs to go as well, but I think I am ready to say that my feeling now is the same as when I first played: this is pure genius. This game deserves to be taken up by Nintendo. I would buy a console version! Perfect.
I gave it a good grade because I think the controls, lack of instructions, interesting graphics and use of motion only were all neat elements. As asked, I kept an open mind, but the story was still a bit too bizarre for me and the ending wasn't satisfying. I don't know. I would like to see you take your talents to some other subject matter and tighten the story-telling. :) Thanks, though!
If you're looking for a fun, easy and quick time-buster, then this is a great one. It's art style and funny story, combined with a bare-bones control-scheme make a fun little game, in my opinion. If it were intended to be something more, it could develop more in the lines of level design and a boss of some sort could be included. Also, perhaps more weapons. All in all, fun!
I admit, I was lured in by the promise of New Super Mario Bros. graphics. The game's presentation (graphics and music), admittedly is very nice. The only real problem is that everything is Nintendo's. Unfortunately, that's about the only strong point in this game. Level design is incredibly simple, and linear--not quite what you'd expect from a game looking like the expansive and secret-filled NSMB. The controls are awkward and Mario's movement is far from what any Mario fan would expect. In fact, all the challenge in this game comes from awkward physics--especially for jumps on single blocks which seem to have a single pixel worth of space to land on. Finally, the boss appears pixelated. All together, I have to call this a below average Flash-based Mario fan-game. Still, that's tied with the best I've found elsewhere. Maybe standards are held too high when talking about Mario.
One thing more: I just realized that the weather in the background of this game changes with the time it is. I just came on for a quick night game and all the stars are out! Wonderful!
