I'm such a sucker for these sorts of games. I love trying to get as far as I can. I feel pretty good with my score of 64,502 after only a little while. Now I'm going to try getting the highest negative score I can get like all the cool kids seem to be doing.
While the challenge was beyond annoying for me to finally win, the game is actually very polished and . . . on second thought, I'm going to favorite this. It might just be a good game to play with friends!
Every now and then you pick up a game that just mesmerizes you immediately--that's this game for me. Though I only had time for a quick session, this was already favorited and rated highly by me.
First of all, I haven't finished the game. So far it's not a bad game. Good platforming action. The graphics are nice and "Pixel-ish." I think it could have used some fine tuning in the area of presentation (especially text). I would have given it a 4/5 based on the above but the link back to another site made it an automatic drop down of 1 star.
It's okay. It is a good way to extend the game beyond the basic mechanics of the "Bowman" genre. The execution is lacking in the graphics department, however. Everything is so small it tends to bring down the enjoyment from successfully hitting a target. And the voice acting is a little lacking--but enjoyable.
"Perhaps you won, perhaps you lost. . . . For now your time in the arena is over. You won 9 battles and defeated 2 arena champions. Your final score was 24568. Thanks for playing this version of 'Swords and Sandals.'" I don't know that this is an appropriate ending for a non demo. . . .
The function buttons are customizable. Drag and drop commands into the function boxes. Those commands will be completed in their entirety by dragging the f1 or f2 box into your Main Method square. Overall, not a bad game.
MyGameName, the turning is "sloppy," as you say, for a reason. This is a drifting game where you are racing on sand. That is the point of this particular racer. It's "angle," if you will.
It is a bit short, but if it were developed further with more courses or, heck, even the ability to play other Kongregate users, it would be just perfect. The first ten courses make me want more.
