When you scout, scavengers by default will always be selected... Does that mean scavengers are better for scouting??? Hard to believe since soldiers gives a better chance at survival... o.O???
So I was playing nightmare and one corner square remain untouched for like 200 days. I capture the square adjacent to it, and suddenly the surrounding zombies skyrocketed from like 300 to 2.3k =O. Didn't lose but I panicked for a bit
wtf wtf wtf... So there was this square that I haven't scouted yet but it's reclaimable which means there's no zombies there. I sent in a scavenger to scout it at 1% danger (wtf there's no zombies why should there be danger). Never came back. FFFUUU
Jesus so I played Nightmare Mode again and by day 40 I was growing desperate so I sent out all my soldiers on killing missions leaving my base at a danger of 90%. That lasted for like 8 turns (lucky!). THEN, zombie attack: 125 defense vs 475 zombies, 90% danger.
FORT HELD.
I stood up from my chair and: F*** yea.
I beat Nightmare a second time today... On average for me, 1 out of 20-25 games on nightmare are successful. The rest were just like what the others have said: stalemate. At around day 35-40, the squares you control are big enough such that zombies spawn enough to keep all your guards on duty and still have 40% danger.
Tips for hard/nightmare: Get a hospital/lab ASAP. You can't afford anyone dying of dysentery. Research preservation first to greatly reduce food blights. Then research binoculars cause you NEED every survivor you can get. Also, don't be afraid to take risks in the first 5 or so turns. If something does turn for the worse, just restart. In addition, get a school fast as well and turn all the scavengers/survivors to soldiers immediately. Also, take malls/cop shops asap as well as they provide excellent static defense.
The nightmare difficulty is seriously rigged... I mean I'm fine with the random events and dysentery crap, but the fort defending is ridiculous to the max.
On normal mode, danger to city for me was like 30%. 9/10, zombies still don't overrun.
On NIGHTMARE mode (one I'm playing now), danger to city 6%, overrun the next day.
Nightmare, danger to city 11%, overrun killing 2 survivors.
Danger 13%, overrun losing 2 squares.
Danger 19%, 2 survivors gone.
The overruns occur almost consecutively it's not even funny, in fact it's worth crying for.
It ISN'T just bad luck, that happened to my previous nightmare modes too, which is also the reason I failed at least 20 nightmares already.
FIX THE DAMN OVERRUNS
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say the developer didn't know how to efficiently implement an AI zombie travel algorithm and thus made it possible for zombie to walk thru walls. I mean srsly sometimes zombies don't even move when I'm 2 spaces from them
I'm REALLY looking forward REBUILD 2.
Game's so awesome. Combining a lot of cool elements together.
And the music is EPIC. Though the guarding scenes and the battle scenes are a little bland.
But it IS a strategy game, so I won't complain
F***. I beat Nightmare mode before, but that was after 50 tries...
Today I tried nightmare mode again... Was doing well. I had like 20 squares and 27 survivors..
Was on the road to victory. However..........
IN THE SPAN OF 4 DAYS, CAME 4 CONSECUTIVE ZOMBIE ATTACKS. Like WTF. I lost like 10 people due to death and MORALE, and lost like 2 big farms/hospital/lab.
Then I lost. Shows how Nightmare mode can easily turn on you in less than a week. F***.
Omg never thought I would find a bug:
When you place those gold direction things on the side on the map and the adventurers keep going onto that gold tile, sometimes they go OFF THE MAP???
What happened to me was on lvl 15 (dragon stage) I had 2 lvl 16 rogues duking it out, one of my rogues went off the map and wandered around o.O
Also tips for beating the dragon for hard badge: on the last stage build a long ass path behind the dragon so the dudes can fight fight fight fight, then walk onto the long ass path to heal like a boss until chance makes them go back onto the main path to hit the dragon some more
lel.
Lol how lame is this...
I killed Gope back in the Cave, thinking "what could possibly go wrong?"
Then I progressed far into the game, wanting to finish the achievements...
" To avoid missing the first key, spare Gope's life."
FK UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
FFFUUU
I was on mission 10 on hard difficulty, JUST about to finish the last warmachine off
Then my last warmachine got fking AMBUSHED by a STEALTH TANK
FFFUUU
I have to say this is a weird but unique game... Took me awhile to get the strategies (and when I mean a while I mean like 2-3 minutes)... Didn't have to restart at all to get the medium badge.
For the last level, you don't even need to move your base. First off, quickly expand the lowest grounds. Then, build your way up to the canyon and build two mortars spread out to cover the 3 creep tumours (and SAMs of course) which will take care of the defense... The rest is easy since you can now work at your own pace. Build 2-3 drones and start bombing one side and then move lasers forward. as for the creep tumours you don't have to get worked up about using like 4-5 lasers. All you have to do is build a mortar near there. Then work your way using the same strategy for the other two. Took me 20 minutes, 2 hours in total. Easy
Oh right so I've played this game for like 2 hrs and I have to say it's really easy even on the hardest difficulty...
All you have to do is keep ferrying your supplies around the map and have one sniper tower max upgrade and 11 survivors... More than enough to take down all the zombies...
All it takes is a lot of time
3/5
-.- There's a lot of things to manage and shit... Even though the pause button kind of ruins the game a little bit it's very much needed
And wtf is with the territorial thing? What i mean the blocking situation is too much... if you have a wall of barricades set-up in front of your snipers, why can't the resuppliers "get past" the sniper towers to resupply?
