If you're really finding the game hard on hard level - you find lots of info in te discussion thread http://www.kongregate.com/forums/3/topics/40456?page=5 trust me - it can be beaten (laggy comp or not)
just a note about turrets - repair drones try to mend them at the expense of repairing your ship - fighters simply regenerate leaving your drones to do what they really need to be doing - saving your butt!
My (like many have found) route...ditch the first fighter, it makes aiming your gun impossible. Max the main gun - trust me when it's maxed to full it's good, at same time max the repair, once again, maxed, the ship rebuilds quick. Then get as many fighters in the air as you can and slowly max their damage and fire rate too...good luck!!!
Well if a 45 year artist can do this - any one can!!! Effigy of the Forgotten
Dude! You just completed the Effigy of the Forgotten achievement in Orbital Decay and won the Effigy of the Forgotten badge and 30 points!
I have played this game on Hard too many time to remember. I started on hard and wanted to finish on hard but it is too...erm...hard! Just for a laugh I went and had a go on Easy - I figured it would'nt hurt to see how the rest of the game pans out - naturally i got the badges using a gun/fighter upgrade strategy. I'll keep trying the hard as i do believe there is an element of luck in the early stages...have fun!
anyone trying to beat this game on hard - look on the bright side, at least the designer, if I may call him that, didn't make your fighters susceptible to friendly fire!
if my main gun was as lame as this - i'd lamp off and go home! i've played easy or medium only hard and there is no sensible strategy forming in my head - we'll see....
thanks for the mods...bearing in mind that TD type games are my all time favourite, i've just completed the hard mode with 50 lives left - a newcommer to the format might not have faired so well - but would have survived and hopefully got hooked! Very much looking forward to the full game - have fun!
ok as it's a beta i guess you want sensible feedback. this has great potential but you need an instant hook - being beaten 10 times before you realise that upgrade, upgrade, upgrade is the only way isn't it...seriously, if you want people to rise to your challenge you have to get them hooked and that will happen if you make the earlier levels slightly easier - looking forward to seeing this develope!
