Game doesn't save progress. Crashes in the middle of some levels making you do all previous levels again. The game itself is great, but has major flaws in basic design. I can not pass certain levels as it crashes and makes me start from the beginning all over again. Needs consistency.
Absolutely amazing. Even with such a low resolution a story was told; every pixel with a purpose. Again, great job with such a constraint. I'm not sure what the 3 floating things at the end were supposed to be, but very much enjoyed the 5 minutes of the little story told. Kudos.
Would be a fantastic game, except: the game crawls when there are even a minimal amount of unit on the screen (and no way to adjust quality to help with this matter), it doesn't seem to matter what lvl crafting components you use, better components != better gear. Other improvements would be nice as well as many have already stated (just read the top comments).
As the developer has stated, a game mechanic can not be copyrighted. What if one company had the franchise on first person shooters, or RTS games. Anyone is able to copy a mechanism for gameplay. And although I was initially against this, you must not only allow them, but embrace them.
Nice. Simple. Seemingly well constructed for the levels I made it to. But the best is the little elastic-type deformation with the circle when it moves.
Not a bad start of a management game with a lot of potential, but needs a lot of work. The movement of your fish is rather choppy and not fluid (seems like you are using position instead of velocity to move) and what ever calculations you are using to control your borders seems inconsistent (sometimes the fish attempts to be centered and at others moves to the end of the screen). As sumptesh said, the mini-games to raise stats are not very balanced and the actual need for any of the traits is not stated. It may be nice to have a fish with 100 Flip and 100 Patience, but why? What is the fish using them for? Are any of these stats used in the actual race? Is there an end goal to winning the race? Different tournaments, or are they simply a means to gather money? And if only say only a few stats assist in the race, like agility and endurance, what is the point of raising the others. Like I said, nice start, needs work.
Not a bad game at all, could be really good. But, as many others have stated, the pace of the game is to slow. As this game requires a large amount of grinding, the speed really needs to be increased. Even in battles, there is an unnecessary delay even before you are able to change the battle speed, which should be remembered. I really don't like to simply rehash what others have clearly stated, but perhaps it will aid into having this issue addressed and turn this game into something much more enjoyable to play. Other than this, the game is rather good and I'm always a fan of any new game with the whole training/evolution mechanic in it. Keep up the good work.
Pretty cool minimalistic game. Going monochrome worked out really well. Would have been an instant hit on an old Atari system; if only they had joysticks with 3 buttons.
Not a bad start; definitely hit that early 80's retro vibe and simplistic style. Countless ways to expand, but for now changing either the coins or enemies bullets as Rallik stated is a must; they are way to similar. Keep up the good work.
Wow. Quite possibly the most unique... game, ever to grace Kong. Oddly enough it kept me playing for a rather long period of time aiming for 100% completion (and getting lost within the Mind Simulator 9000), but alas a single crystal eludes me. Overall a solid piece of work although the purpose, if any, remains a mystery to me. Keep up the good work and amaze us with another installment of this fine piece of 'art'.
Rather nice platformer, but as many gave noted, a bit buggy still; seems to freeze at random places forcing a refresh (bug report submitted with details). Simplistic graphics and controls, but my personal favorite is the sound track; it is fitting and very well done in keeping the atmosphere of the game.
Rather nice work, especially for your first game. The progressive mechanics seem to be well thought out and the interface is simple and easy to understand. There is the issue of not having any sound though; think about adding a track of background music and some simple sound effects when placing new buildings, advancing research, etc. It doesn't have to be anything special and folks may still mute it, but regardless, it should be there. Overall pretty good job, keep up the good work.
With the different classes; do you get bonus stats each time you level a characters particular class level? That is, once you have a character maxed out in one class, is it benificial to assign them to a new class to level up for additional bonuses in the new class?
Really enjoying the game so far. Solid graphics and sound, simple gameplay mechanic and overall nicely done for the arena style combat game that it is. The lack of trophies issue really does need to be addressed for local saves. I am not quite sure why people are having an issue with the difficulty of the game; currently on the second arena and, sure I died a few times, but nothing as drastic as others are mentioning. Tons of side quests to battle for gold and exp. that scale with your level if an arena battle proves to difficult. Overall, nice work.
OK, this simple engine you have constructed has SO many great possibilities and would absolutely love for it to be developed into a full game. Solid look, great 3D environment, a well functioning construction/implementation mechanic and all the basics needed for a truly magnificent game; the only thing missing is, well, an actual game. With this simple framework in place, the different possibilities for a game are seemingly endless; so please, take this and develop it into something great. Build up a story, options, goals, missions, etc. Set it in a time and place, give it a purpose, add characters, options, etc. If you are struggling for ideas, there are tons of people in the community you would be able to find to assist you and overwhelm you with potential paths to take and transform this into a true masterpiece. What you have now is simply a... framework. Also, add a mute button else players beging to commit suicide.
I really need to say this. Although this is definitely a solid game, and I do enjoy playing it; I really expect more from you LongAminals. With such previous hits as the CycloManiacs and Flaming Zombooka series, Turbo Golf and other top tier titles, I really expect so much more from you than this simplistic racing game which simply mirrors several others you have released. It's been a while since you put out a really mind blowing game that introduces something new to the racing genre of which you seem to have already mastered. Hell, even a new, bigger, and more in-depth CycloManiacs sequel would be welcome as opposed to a clone of one of your less substantial works. I still do love you as a developer, but want much more from you and don't feel bad asking for it as I know what you are capable of. Please astonish us with a fantastic new game that goes beyond the simplistic scope of this retro racing game and create another masterpiece.
Thanks for the comment. It's sad, but the economics of game development mean we can't make the 'good' games any more. Believe me. we'd love to, but we lose money making those, and this is our living. If only people bought our games instead of them being free! ;)
I feel that you have a solid game idea, it's simply that some areas could use tweaking/improvements; aside from the bugs already mentioned. As most of these were discussed in previous posts, no need to rehash them, so as it stands, pretty fun game, but definitely could be improved upon. Rated it a 4/5 which is a bit high, but 3/5 seems to low, as even with several flaws, I am enjoying playing it.
Pretty nice shooter. Just a couple of suggestions: It could really use mouse support to control the ship, and PLEASE do something about the speed. Even if you increase the speed of everything, not just your ship by a factor or include many more speed boosts to pick up.
Thanks to everyone for commenting!
I initially rejected mouse control because I thought it would be too slow to react with, but upon giving it a try its not so bad after all. So now its available as an option. I'm not convinced it controls as well as keys, but it is kinda convenient.
I also increased movement speed by 25%, but you no longer move faster diagonally than up or down. The gameplay seems less sluggish now.
Thanks! The little elastic movement was actually one of the first things I designed for the game to make the game feel better.
