Just keep re-playing previous missions until you have enough money for a better bow and see if you can beat the mission you are stuck at with your new bow.
souljasam01 The score I'm talking about is the one you see in the shop, not for any particular mission. 5th job is at 360 sp spent (level 120 w/o ascension) and 6th job is at 450 sp spent (level 150 w/o ascension)
Actually Logus repel rate is applied in-mission AND end-mission. The bow after the ultimate is the Bow of Lost Soul which can be obtained by defeating any mission with a score of about 13,700,000,000. (Not total score). After that you must have Bow of Lost Soul and beat ergoth to get the Necro Bow. After that deafeat Athena to get Amazon Bow, and after that defeat Zakum for the Blood Thirsty Bow.
Yes, the S ranks are based on score (different for every level). Score is based on many factors including accuracy (self-explanatory), repel rate (having an arrow hit at 99% repel rate means less score than a 100% repel rate when arrow strikes), and arrow flight time (more time arrow spends in air = more score).
It's rather dull and repetitive without adding much excitement as time goes on. Maybe add an offensive or defensive component to the game to increase variability of game play, which would definitely add replay value to the game.
My guess is that a high angled shot provides a good chance for a headshot and so trying to achieve this awards more points. As in a regular battle most enemies will have battle armor protecting their exposed frontal bodies and heads.
Travcm, it's not counter-intuitive. If you do it the way I do the multiplier is unaffected by the high angled shots. And I never said anything about high angled shots below 100% power. Just to clarify the multiplier is not for score, only for damage. The longer the arrow stays in the air and hits a target, the more points are awarded. To achieve the longer time in the air would to have the largest angle possible at 100% power.
What I meant was to use relatively high angled shots. The points you gain are based on several different factors, one of which is how long the arrow is in the air. Higher angle = more time in air = more points = higher grade
