I played up until the game demanded that I pay 50 rubies if I wanted to change my name *in the character creation screen*...... ok, that is excessive. Yes I read the thing where it said that my first name-change only was free, but I figured that would let me change it more than once while I was creating my character. Now I see why people hate Nexon, even though I have been charmed by and enjoyed The Grinns Tale.
I have played this game for several hours now, without much waiting, and without spending any real money. So far it has been an enjoyable little game, with quirky characters. amd decent town/crafting/fight/etc. mechanics. There are a few things that have bothered me, mainly the constant unsubtle hints that I would do better if I spent cash on the game. Needing to pay to change a character's name is the only one that really bothers me, as I feel that that should be allowed for anyone! Otherwise, premium currency things haven't gotten in the way of my enjoyment of the game, and I haven't so far had to wait very long to keep playing. 4/5 from me.
Double commenting, but damage taken should have absolutely NOTHING to do with how you perform in a *time-trial* which is what the hard and insane levels seem to be... make it one or the other, but not both!
Game is no longer fun after finishing the fire temple, because I cannot unlock the wind temple, and don't care to try any longer.
Can't even get to the third temple because the hard times are not winnable without upgrades, which as many people have mentioned should not be bought yet. Insane took me about 10 tries on level 1...
The game was an OK idea, but the controls were awful. My keyboard is fine, but it acted like the keys were stuck down (which was hilarious for a while, but very annoying soon after).
Was expecting another stock tower defense game, but was presented with a solidly strategic, interesting, historically significant, thought-provoking, fun, challenging, and well-written game (with a plot!) Thank you!
Second Most Annoying Thing Ever: When you've struggled with a level a bajillion times, and finally beat it, saving all VIPs, Civs, getting all stars, killing all baddies... and lose because you lost one unit.
Most Annoying Thing Ever: Accidentally killing the last baddy before you collected the last star/saved the last civ.
