For the spells... I have so far found 6 spells, pure fire, pure ice, pure lightning, explosion, chaos and poison. Out of these six Chaos is the very best, it include same beam as fire has, same effect as lightning and the protective rings from ice, giving full protection from almost all damage.
Important stats to find is "spell proc" this will randomly on almost each attack cast your spell for free, together with chaos it will clear the screen very fast.

First of all, the system of the game is ok. simple controls (just mouse) and easy to learn.
Secondly, it is not balanced at all. For example, when having the choise of attack, critical and life, ONLY take attack, this is because attack increases both damage and life (life increased is 20% of total attack), adding on "critical" is totally unnessecary. Critical, as far as I have seen, will only increase the damage of "critical hit", whereof "critical hit" is attack + critical, so if having 100 attack and 400 critical you have 10-40% chance to do 500 damage, all other hits will do 100 damage giving an average of 150-300 damage. If you instead have 500 attack and 0 critical with 10-40% chance you will do an average of 500 damage each attack.
Last level have a glitch, you can go from the start up to the egg on the outside of the killing spike, and then turn gravity back to get to the egg. :)
Forgot to say that too.. The party size (I don't know if it's always just two members or not) should be able to increase, like finding some more member or being able to hire+fire old ones (front/back setup should exist - as I said on the comment just before)
It would be better to have front/back setting for the characters, back units can only be attacked by ranged until front units die, just to make a better tank and dps setup of heroes, also warrior is too much stronger than mage when it come to straight forward attacks, (magic attack avg 15-17 dmg, melee(warrior) attack avg 30 on the same level)

Win 7 is usually one of the reasons, so post more info too, it's not compatible with win 7 on chrome nor IE, it's probably not the same for everyone but for me this has been the cause for a few flash-games
The game doesn't seem to be compatible with Google Chrome (ver. 13.0.782.107) nor internet explorer 8, tested on Windows 7. Google Chrome --> no movements at all; Internet Explorer --> movement keys getting stuck. Rate this comment high for the editor to see it
I found a glitch to this game to get unlimited ammount of lives in the end, the opponent shooting three beams of closely bullets do not aim directly to your ship, so if you're standing on the right side (I suppose left side works too), just so you don't hit him with your own bullets, the lives start popping in (with shield)
I forgot to mention. There are some units to be careful about, crossbowmen stacked 2 or more after eachothers, musketeers stacked more than one, shooting marine, last shooting one stacked after tank (even with 4 ion cannons)
Way to beat impossible difficulty:
First of all, do not build any units before you get an egg automatic turret.
Do so by using your power when there are some enemies out.
After that train cave mens when enemy is close to your base, use power next time when there are some enemies out, and save next until he has some dino riders.
Now the most important, whatever happens, DO NOT CHANGE EPOCH!! Keep the first epoch until the first marine comes out, shooting one, not the soldier with knife, and then do dual turrets. Upgrade your ammount of turrets, most likely it will be maxed before first marine. After this you should be Ok.
