Avenger, if you're going to sink a lot of points into a single person (Special Ops + BAR), it's a good investment to have heroism added to his HP. You can still get pretty unlucky with a single large-crater artillery, but that's kind of why you have to pay attention to the warnings and run into a bunker. ^ ^
Choowee, if you have +4 speed and you're still being hit by the Iowa, that's a pretty big problem. Heck, if you are +0 speed and you're being hit by the Iowa, that's a problem. o_O
Awesome game. Even if you don't know a city, as long as you can point to the country you can make it past a couple of rounds. 5/5
And the hard badge is hard, but if you play it enough you'll hopefully learn the locations you keep missing on! =)
I actually think the meteor dish is too underpowered to be of any use most games... I don't think I've ever felt like I lost *because* of it, at any rate. The first thing about it is that while it kills in two hits ($400), most of the people who are using it don't typically get direct-on hits with it because of their aim of clicking too soon, so that's $400 *minimum*. It sucks up a ton of money, prevents you from buying better weapons, and usually the thing I see with new players is that they sacrifice too much ground in order to go buy it. I dunno, I've never felt annoyed when someone used the meteor dish. If anything, I felt relieved they didn't save up for flamethrower or Iowa. ^ ^
Satellite isn't supposed to be dodgeable.
It's a dino-killer. Although the fact that it takes two hits to kill makes it actually a pretty weak choice of weapon, Jugglinguy. ^ ^
The reasoning behind which would be that I think once you obtain them, the Flamethrower/Iowa *should* be game-ending weapons. They're cool like that. But they could be made a little harder to obtain. Hence they would be the logical end and consequence (just dessert) of a wasteful spending player... his opponent could afford those weapons and end him.
Actually, thinking about it some more, I was wondering what people thought of this idea: What if Iowa was still 150 to use, but they increased the initial purchase price and/or made it so that the Tier Discounts don't apply to Tier 3 weapons like flamethrower or Iowa? This would mean that these weapons could not be purchased early on in the game and can only be afforded by those who have gained sufficient economic advantage through good use to the other weapons. It wouldn't change the fact that you had the option to run back to get cheap tower/SAM or jetpack early on...
Nicol's point is well-taken in that being stuck on tier 3 and using Iowa should probably be invalidated as a strategy just because it has the potential to make things tedious... although if you have them back to their last base you should be able to end the game pretty quickly regardless of their Iowa capabilities.... just jet pack and flamethrower the heck out of it?
And I don't think the Iowa should be removed, and I'm still not 100% sure it should be changed. Although even with it left in as it is, this game doesn't deserve a rating of 1... come on, games like Particle get a higher rating than that~
I guess any time you have a game that has a learning curve, you're going to get a lot of frustrated beginners. =) Happy hunting!
Iowa (airstrike) seems to inspire so much resentment among people here! ^ ^
First of all, to counter someone running back to their first base to get airstrike, remember that they are really sacrificing a lot of ground. You could either rush them with SAM to wipe out their first two tiers while they are doing this, or you could go to your second base to get some better weapon before doing this and you should still manage to gain some respectable ground.

I don't know why your Tier 2 didn't die when I bombed it the third time (Iowa still damages even if you die while using it... although I haven't yet figured out if you have control of when it drops or whether it just drops when it reaches the limit).
At any rate, when you had your Tier 2 remaining, and control of the hill with flamethrower, I was screwed economically~
