Great idea here! Two major issues: 1. If it's a keyboard game, please *please* let me restart by hitting a key on the keyboard (e.g.: "R") rather than having to reach for my mouse; 2. I shouldn't die when I jump up and outside the level. It's one thing when you fall out of the level (and, e.g.: have no more gravity-flips available). But jumping? I think the easiest way to address this would be to set the death trigger some distance outside the level (edge + 5 units, or thereabouts). I mean, if this is a deliberate choice, to not allow you to jump, then fine but I have to say I disagree with it. Other than that, though, a fun game! :-)
Wow. I did it! I'm at Hellstone level 150!
I started playing this game back in early December of 2013. Eagerly clicking at first, then a bit less and less every day. After a while I'd clickety-click for a bit once or twice a week when I was bored, but otherwise just left the window open and let it idle its way up.
Eventually I stopped actively interacting with it at all, just letting it do its thing, occasionally watching it tick over.
I have had a browser tab constantly open to this game for THIRTEEN AND A HALF MONTHS now.
And today I finally reached Hellstone level 150.
And that's it. I quit. I am so DONE working in these mines. You can take this job and shove it where the gem don't shine.
Peace out, y'all! :-D
So... between Moose and Squirrel (snerk), I'm pretty sure this makes for a Turing-complete system. Shouldn't take me TOO long to prove that, right...?
... ... ...
*ahem*
Okay. Back to work, mrputter!
@Jaywol yeah that was a bit buggy for me too. I found I had to click on the combobox then use my cursor ([down] arrow) key to scroll down until I got to the option I wanted (that didn't initially display). Note when you do this it affects the earlier comboboxes as well, so you will have to go and reset them. Like I said: buggy. :-/
Advisor: "Sir! Sir! There are only 50 people left alive in the country!" President of Greenland: "Eh, I got a box of masks in the closet. That should take care of the problem."
Ok, there's this at least:
If (like me) you completed the last battle, and encountered the freezing issue, but DID receive the "My Name is John Turner achievement," then reload the webpage in your browser and complete any battle (e.g.: the tutorial battle, if you want). This will at least get you the Kongregate badge (although not any in-story "you won the game" animations or cutscenes, etc.).
Bah. Ok concept, but whoever wrote this can't program their way out of a paper bag. Leaks memory like a sieve: I just sit here with top open in a terminal window, watching plugin-container's memory usage reach for the sky over time. There's no way a game like this needs to take up 2.1 GB of memory. Oh yeah, and the freezing issue after the last battle, too.
Ok, I give up... what the heck button am I supposed to be pressing in the "sneak past the guards" minigame? I've tried every button on my keyboard, tried chording them all with shift, ctl and alt... and still nothing. He just resolutely sits there behind the first pillar without budging. Am I missing something ridiculously obvious?
tell me about it :-/
