Not enough(none, actually) customizability or variety for the ship itself (no upgrades or perks that makes a ship unique), not enough variety in the levels, the enemies are generally too stupid an easy, the bosses aren't quite balanced, the ships guns don't target well at all, custom guns suck, ship moving slow makes it tedious and less strategic.
Overall huge lack of things that makes a game great. The base is there, there's huge potential, but it's missing so much.
That said this is still a good game, I'm just disappointed that it's not an amazing game as it could be.
Even if you only play it for a short while, it's fun without paying for anything. This is why I give it 4 stars. I wouldn't dare spend any money on the game though for two reasons:
1. The quality of the game isn't high enough (very simple and unstrategic game mechanics)
2. The prices are way way too high for what you get (is it whale hunting season already?)
I sincerely hope few people send money on this game. The developers should not be rewarded so much for this type of behavior. It's a great game to waste time on even as a free game though (it's still pay to win and horribly imbalanced, but that doesn't make it not fun)
Critical training mission #5 "perfect combo" isn't working. No matter what I do my combo/stars progress reset when I'm supposed to click (whether I click on time or not)
I'm having trouble accessing the game through Kongregate. The game window says:
"Oops! There was a problem logging you in with your Kongregate account!
Please try again"
Something about the game is really annoying. It feels worse than any space/flight shooter I've ever played. The game also doesn't explain much to the player. Very little information in combat as well, plus terrible movement system.
I think the movement system is what makes the game so bad. Moving in the direction of the mouse cursor? that makes no damn sense at all
Eh there's some significant problems with this game. For one thing the ship equipping generally feels like there's little to no choice at all. Even the kinetic/laser thing isn't really a choice. The only choice is waht you want your ship to look like, and even then, it's only if there's multiple options that are the same (when you encounter something better, you're generally forced to switch to it instead due to better stats).
Secondly, the combat feels bland and/or tedious to me, although it's not too bad.
Lastly, it feels like there's almost no control over the game. Maybe it's supposed to be like that, but I tried saving and reloading multiple times when my Balance planet was under attack, but as soon as I participate in a fight and leave, it just gets taken over immediately after, and without warning.
Also, what's with the pirates who ask 5 questions but all 3 answers are wrong on the last question? Do I need to leave, check, then return?
Hi mshojat, thank you for trying SR:G and providing feedback. We plan to rework the combat system and try and bring more game depth to it, when all save/load issues are fixed. This will include tuning weapons and all ship equipment stats. We'll investigate the balance victory issues several players have. On the 5 questions quest: there is no right answer to the 5th question, you have to fight and beat the pirate boss. Sorry for the inconvenience and the fixing delay.
This game has soo much space, but the combat mechanics are mostly lame, and both walking around and doing regular fights is way too tedious. It's just a major grindfest all the time unfortunately. It could have been a much better game, there's a lot of stuff going good for it.
What the heck happened to my save? I played this game just 2-3 weeks ago and pretty much beat beat and cleared everything except platinum medal survivals or whatever.
I come on now and everything's gone! All my other saves for other games on Kongregate are intact, so it is strange.
nice just got a 51 combo without getting hit.
By the way, this game is AWESOME. I can't believe it's lower rating than so many of the highly rated garbage games on here. How can some of those games have such a high score compared to this?
oh that was just the launch time for that one. Well I got 2 wallets shortly after as well. I guess the feat was that I did it with page 1 all level 4 or lower and other pages level 2 or lower.
Too much grind at the end. Whenever it's more efficient to do shorter runs and/or ones with lower scores to get more money it's a flaw in the game design. There should be some more expensive attacks that don't take as long to perform which would help deal with the major grind issues.
This game is way too mindless, easy, and repetitive/boring. I gave it a fair cance but this is very poor quality. Way too much money/development time was seemingly spent on artwork rather than quality gameplay.
