Anyone saying this is a cash grab has not played the game long enough. Yes, you can get faster with a crystal tree, but it is far from being mandatory and the game is perfectly playable for free, or for very cheap. Having said that, the poor design decision to make you buy your "bonus prizes" must be reversed. It makes the whole thing smell bad, even if it is not really rotten.
That's weird, I'm unaware of how Kongregate's system work behind the scene. I think they're probably only incremental by one. I recommend you to try from level 15, if you don't receive a reward during the last level please get in touch with their support, surely they'll help you (:

The Market is very badly conceptualized. If you want to buy something specific, it is quite random if you find it or not. If you wanted to facilitate a market, there needs to be a search capability.
I'm really annoyed with the difficulty of obtaining the Explorer class. Not having it means one is unable to use Level 2 expeditions. I must have rolled over a 100 workers by now, paying for them with coins and crystals, to no avail. What's the point of the level 2 upgrade to expeditions, if one cannot ever use it.

The help says "Go to the Bank by tapping on the + sign next to the icon & amount of crystals you currently have that are located in the upper right corner of the screen." but there is no + sign.
Currently you don't have access to the Bank unless you running out of crystals. The bank will appear if you spend all your free crystals. We are planning an update soon, it will give access to the bank if you wish to fulfill Crystal Tree quest. However, this quest is not an obligatory one)
The bank exists in the game. As far as a task is concerned - you do not have to fulfill it, it's up to you. The game is free to play, but you may want to speed up some processes using crystals.
@Xesc every time you manually collect an alpha, you raise the counter by one. Every time you auto-collect, the counter decreases. You need to manually collect in order to auto-collect
Really enjoying this game. It's not really an idle game, at least not in the sense that you can leave it and go away, but for now managing everything is still enjoyable after a few hours.
Great game, very much attention was given to progression, so you need to farm just a little bit from time to time, and most of the time you are progressing. According to the timer I played more than two hours. I could have sworn it was much less, it really pulled me in. 5/5
